Fits HP Elite C1030, Elite C1030 Chromebook, and Chromebook X360 13c models; replaces DK04XL, DK04050XL, HSTNN-DB9W, and L93531-2C1.
7.7V and 6150mAh capacity delivers 47.36Wh total energy for full work sessions on this convertible ultrabook.
Connector type matches OEM housing; locking tab aligns flush with the battery compartment slot without force.
We ran discharge cycles on the fuel gauge IC against a fresh load; BMS handshake completed cleanly on first insertion with no charge hold.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Elite Dragonfly C1030 — 7.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (DK04XL)

This is a 7.7V, 6150mAh (47.36Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the HP Elite Dragonfly C1030 convertible notebook. It also fits the Elite C1030 Chromebook, Elite C1030 Chromebook Enterprise, and Chromebook X360 13c. OEM cross-references include DK04XL, DK04050XL, HSTNN-DB9W, and L93531-2C1.

  • C1030 platform compatibility: All four models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 7.7V power rail. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across the Chromebook and Windows variants, so one cell covers the full C1030 generation without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the C1030 platform and confirmed the BMS communicated correctly with the EC. Charge acceptance reached rated capacity without thermal events or cell dropout under sustained CPU and display load.
  • Post-install calibration on the C1030: After fitting, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This forces the EC to run a battery learn cycle against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in HP Support Assistant after every cell swap.

Why the C1030 BIOS reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap

The HP Embedded Controller stores charge history and wear data from the original cell in EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, the EC compares live readings against that stored profile and flags a mismatch as degraded health — even on a brand-new battery. The fix is a full calibration cycle, not a BIOS update or warranty return. Once the EC completes a learn cycle with the new cell, the health status resets to normal and HP Support Assistant stops flagging it.

C1030 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under full CPU boost plus the touchscreen display, the cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track, and the laptop hits the low-voltage cutoff before the OS-reported percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC needs two to three full calibration cycles against the new cell to map actual voltage-to-capacity curves correctly. Run the laptop on battery from 100% down to hibernate cutoff twice and the gauge will align — shutdowns at false-high percentages will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

HP Support Assistant is showing my new C1030 battery as "poor health" — is the cell actually faulty?

No — this is an EEPROM mismatch, not a cell fault. The Embedded Controller carries wear data from the old battery and flags any new cell that doesn't match that stored profile. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that learn cycle completes, the health status resets and the warning clears.

My C1030 shows 47Wh in HP Support Assistant but the system info screen is reporting a different Wh rating — why?

The Wh value shown in system info is read from the cell's EEPROM, which stores the OEM-rated figure at manufacture. The actual chemistry in the replacement cell may carry a slightly different EEPROM value depending on production batch. This is a data field difference, not a capacity fault — the cell still delivers 47.36Wh to the platform. Confirm real-world capacity by running a full calibration cycle and checking discharge behaviour under load.

My C1030 battery stopped charging above 80% after I installed the new cell — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. HP's firmware includes a BIOS-controlled charge limit that caps charging at 80% when Battery Health Manager is enabled in the BIOS. Open BIOS settings (F10 at POST), navigate to Power > Battery Health Manager, and switch from "Maximize battery health" to "Let HP manage my battery charging." The cell will then charge to 100%.
