This 7.68V, 6450mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 1470 convertible notebook. It also fits the Flex 5 CB-13IML05 Chromebook variants and the C13 Yoga Gen 1 Chromebook. OEM part numbers covered include 5B10X63136, 5B10X63141, L19L4PG2, L19M4PG2, L19D4PG2, SB10X63137, and SB10X63140.

  • Flex 5 and C13 Yoga Gen 1 shared platform: These models run the same 7.68V two-cell Li-Polymer architecture with a shared connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement cell covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, discharge, and reinsertion on a Flex 5 1470 chassis. The BMS negotiated cell chemistry correctly, the fuel gauge IC registered capacity, and the BIOS reported a recognised battery without prompting a health warning.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement

The Flex 5 BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and compares it against the new cell during the first boot. Because the new cell has no matching cycle history, the firmware flags it as degraded. This is a calibration state, not a defect. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the BIOS relearns the cell's actual capacity and clears the health warning.

Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% shown on the OS gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds learned voltage curves from the old, degraded cell. Under full CPU and display load, the new cell's actual voltage cliff sits higher than the IC expects, triggering a hard shutdown before the gauge reaches zero. The fix is two full calibration cycles — discharge to hibernate, then charge to 100% each time. After both cycles the gauge IC maps the new cell's voltage curve accurately, and the early shutdowns stop.

My Flex 5 shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" right after I installed it — is the cell dead?

No. The OS fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data from the old cell and hasn't mapped the new one yet. Charge the laptop to 100% uninterrupted, then let it discharge fully to hibernate without plugging in. After that first complete cycle the gauge IC registers the actual cell and the 0% or unknown state clears.

The replacement battery is showing a lower Wh rating in Lenovo Vantage than the original — why?

Lenovo Vantage pulls the Wh value from the cell's EEPROM, which stores the rated figure from the factory. A replacement cell from a different production batch can carry a slightly different rated Wh entry even when the physical capacity is identical. Run two full charge-discharge cycles and check again — after calibration, Vantage recalculates from measured data rather than the stored EEPROM value, and the displayed figure will align with the 49.54Wh spec.

Charge stops at 80% and won't go higher — is something wrong with the replacement cell?

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Lenovo's firmware on the Flex 5 and C13 Yoga includes a Conservation Mode setting that caps charging at 60% or 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power → Battery Settings, and confirm Conservation Mode is switched off. Once disabled, the next charge cycle will run to 100%.
