Fits HP iPAQ 3600, 3630, 3635, 3641 series; replaces OEM part 253514-B21.
This 3.7V lithium-polymer cell delivers 1300mAh capacity, restoring full charge cycles to aging Pocket PC devices.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with mechanical locking tab; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this pack on iPAQ 3630 hardware — BMS engaged properly on first insertion, voltage held steady under load.
Sync your iPAQ to the host computer before battery removal; PDA RAM loses power without the main cell, erasing unsaved files and application state.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP iPAQ 3600 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (253514-B21)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the HP iPAQ 3600 series Pocket PC. It fits the iPAQ 3630, 3635, and 3641, among other models in the same line. The OEM part numbers covered include 253514-B21, PE2030A, PE2030, PE2031, and PE2031A.

  • iPAQ 3600 series fit: These models share the same 3.7V voltage rail, Li-Polymer cell format, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them uses the same connector and charge circuit — the battery works across the range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the iPAQ platform. The BMS held stable cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge from the cradle without fault flags or thermal events.
  • Pre-removal sync requirement: Perform a full ActiveSync data sync to your host PC before removing the old battery. The iPAQ 3600 holds open files, contacts, and application state in SRAM powered directly by the main cell — pulling the battery without syncing first will wipe unsaved data.

Why the iPAQ 3600 loses RAM data during a battery swap

The iPAQ 3600 uses SRAM for active storage — unlike flash memory, SRAM loses its contents the moment power drops to zero. There is no internal backup cell on this platform to bridge the gap during a swap. Even a two-second power interruption is enough to clear the RAM entirely. Sync everything to ActiveSync before you remove the battery, then install the new cell and restore from the sync record.

iPAQ 3600 won't boot after new battery installed

A fresh Li-Polymer cell ships at a partial state of charge — sometimes as low as 3.0V — which falls below the minimum voltage the iPAQ boot sequence requires. The device will appear dead even though the battery is functional. Place it in the charging cradle for at least 30 minutes before attempting a boot. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.6V, the device will power on and complete the boot sequence normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iPAQ 3600 lost all my contacts and calendar entries after I swapped the battery — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is not at fault. The iPAQ 3600 stores contacts, calendar data, and open application state in SRAM, which is powered directly by the main battery. The moment the old cell came out, that data lost power and cleared. Before your next swap, run a full ActiveSync sync to your PC — that copies everything off the device before the battery comes out, and you restore from that record after the new cell is in.

The wireless sync keeps dropping on my iPAQ 3630 after fitting the new battery — it was fine on the old one.

The 802.11 or Bluetooth radio on the iPAQ is voltage-sensitive and draws a sharp current spike when it initialises. If the new battery hasn't completed its first full charge, voltage sags under that load and the radio drops the connection. Put the device in the cradle and charge it to full — the charge LED on the cradle will go green — then retry the wireless sync. A fully charged cell holds voltage stable enough for the radio to stay connected.

Battery life on my iPAQ 3635 seems much shorter when I'm using the barcode scanner add-on — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. The barcode scanner LED and its decoder circuit draw significantly more current than normal PDA standby or screen use. That extra draw shortens the time between charges noticeably compared to the rated capacity figure, which is measured at low, steady current. The 1300mAh capacity is correct — the cell is simply working harder under scanner load. Charge the device at the end of each shift rather than waiting for a low-battery warning to keep the cell in a healthy charge range.
