Fits Toshiba E400 and E410 PDAs, replaces OEM battery LAB503759C.
3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full computing and wireless capability to aging devices.
Connector slides into the original battery slot with a single locking tab on the right side.
We bench-tested this cell in an E400 boot cycle — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without fault codes.
Perform a full data sync to the host computer before removing the original battery, since PDA RAM loses power during the swap and unsaved files will be lost.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba E400 / E410 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LAB503759C)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell that replaces the LAB503759C battery in the Toshiba E400 and E410 pocket PCs. These early-2000s PDAs rely on a single flat Li-Po cell to power the processor, RAM, and display. When the original cell degrades, the device loses charge quickly or won't hold enough voltage to boot.

  • E400 and E410 platform fit: Both models use the same battery bay dimensions and the same 3.7V single-cell Li-Po arrangement. The connector pinout and BMS communication protocol are identical across the two, so one cell covers both units without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an E400 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, regulated charge termination cleanly at 4.2V, and held the low-voltage cutoff at the expected threshold without premature shutdown.
  • RAM state before you remove the old battery: Sync all open data to the host PC before pulling the original cell. The E400 stores active application state and unsaved contacts in volatile SRAM — that data disappears the moment battery voltage drops to zero. A full ActiveSync before the swap takes 60 seconds and prevents data loss.

Why the E400 won't boot after a battery swap

A freshly shipped Li-Po cell typically arrives at 30–50% state of charge — enough for storage, not enough for the E400's boot sequence. The device checks for a minimum voltage threshold before committing to a full boot. If that threshold isn't met, the unit either shows a low-battery warning and halts, or shows nothing at all. Connect the E400 to its charger for at least two hours before attempting the first power-on after a battery replacement.

E400 calendar and contacts missing after the new battery goes in

The E400 keeps its operating system in ROM, but open records, calendar entries, and installed third-party apps live in volatile SRAM. SRAM requires continuous power — even a brief gap during a battery swap is enough to wipe it. If data is already gone, connect to ActiveSync immediately and restore from the last backup. Going forward, perform a full sync before every battery removal to avoid repeating the loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Toshiba E400 shows a low battery warning and won't get past the boot screen after I fitted the new cell — is the battery faulty?

Almost certainly not — the cell shipped at partial charge, and the E400 needs a minimum voltage before it completes the boot sequence. Connect it to the original charger and leave it for two hours before trying again. We saw the same behaviour on the bench until the cell reached roughly 3.7V under load. Once charged, the boot completes normally.

All my contacts and calendar data disappeared the moment I swapped the battery — what happened?

The E400 stores live data in SRAM, which loses its contents the instant battery voltage drops to zero. Even a two-second gap during a swap is enough to clear it. If data is already gone, restore from your last ActiveSync backup on the host PC. Before any future battery work, run a full ActiveSync sync first — that takes under a minute and preserves everything.

After fitting the new battery, wireless sync keeps dropping halfway through — the old battery never did this.

The E400's wireless radio is voltage-sensitive and draws a sharp current spike when transmitting. A partially charged new cell sags under that load, causing the radio to cut out mid-sync. Charge the device fully before attempting a wireless sync — target a full 4.2V charge cycle. Once the cell is at capacity, the voltage sag during transmission stays within the radio module's operating tolerance and sync completes cleanly.
