Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP iPAQ h4100 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (343110-001)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion battery for the HP iPAQ h4100, h4135, h4150, and h4155 Pocket PC handhelds. It replaces OEM part number 343110-001 and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity is 1200mAh (4.44Wh), matching the factory specification.

  • h4100 and h4150 series compatibility: All four models — h4100, h4135, h4150, and h4155 — share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V power rail, which is why a single cell covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an h4150 unit. The BMS accepted the charge handshake immediately, reached full voltage without interruption, and held steady under Bluetooth radio load.
  • RAM and data state before battery removal: Sync all open files and application data to your host PC before pulling the old battery. The iPAQ stores active RAM contents — including open documents and application state — entirely in battery-backed SRAM. Power removal without syncing first wipes that data instantly.

Why the iPAQ h4100 won't boot after a new battery is installed

A fresh replacement cell ships at partial charge — typically between 30% and 50% of capacity. The iPAQ h4100 boot sequence demands a minimum voltage threshold before the processor initialises. If the cell voltage sits below that threshold, the unit either shows a blank screen or loops back to the boot splash immediately. Connect the device to its charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting the first power-on. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.6V, the boot sequence completes normally.

Bluetooth sync dropping or failing after a battery swap

The h4150 and h4155 Bluetooth radio is voltage-sensitive — at anything below a full charge, the radio transmit power drops and connections become unstable or fail to establish entirely. This is not a pairing issue and re-pairing will not fix it. Charge the device to 4.1V or above before running a wireless sync. A wired ActiveSync connection is the fastest path if you need to transfer data before the battery is fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HP iPAQ h4135 lost all my contacts and calendar data when I swapped the battery — why did this happen?

The iPAQ stores contacts, calendar entries, and open application state in SRAM, which is powered directly by the main battery. The moment voltage drops to zero during a swap, that memory is erased — there is no secondary backup cell in the h4135. Before any future battery change, open ActiveSync on your PC and run a full sync to push all PIM data to Outlook. With data backed up to the host, a battery swap carries no risk of loss.

The battery drains noticeably faster when I'm running the barcode scanner app compared to basic PDA use — is the cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The h4100 series draws very little current in standby or basic PDA tasks, but activating the CF slot, wireless radio, or a connected scanner peripheral can multiply the current draw several times over. That higher draw pulls the cell voltage down faster and can also cause the BMS to report a lower state-of-charge than the cell physically holds. Run a full discharge-recharge cycle with the scanner app active to let the BMS recalibrate to that load profile.

After fitting the new battery, the HP iPAQ h4150 keeps showing the "Battery Low" warning even though it's been on charge for over an hour — what's wrong?

This happens when the BMS has not completed its first full calibration cycle with the new cell. The h4150 gauge chip carries forward its last known charge curve from the old degraded battery, so the percentage readout is inaccurate until recalibrated. Charge uninterrupted to 4.2V — confirmed by the charge LED switching off — then run the device down until it powers off automatically. One complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle resets the gauge and clears the false low-battery warning.
