11.55V, 4300mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 49.67Wh to the Omen 15-EK gaming platform consistently.
Connector seats flush into the internal slot with a single locking tab — orient the pack fully before pressing down.
We bench-tested the cell on a Omen 15-EK motherboard; the BMS handshake completed on first boot with no fault flags.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Omen 15-EK0009TX — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HSTNN-OB1R)

This is an 11.55V, 4300mAh (49.67Wh) lithium-polymer battery for the HP Omen 15-EK0009TX and compatible Omen and Victus 15 series laptops. It matches OEM part numbers HSTNN-OB1R, L84357-AC1, L84394-005, and SD03XL. Pull the old cell, fit this one, and the system powers on with the correct voltage rail.

  • Omen 15-EK and Victus 15-FA series compatibility: These models share the same SD03XL cell format, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The charging circuit and BIOS handshake expect the same 3-cell Li-Polymer pack at 11.55V nominal — this battery meets that spec without any adapter or firmware workaround.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Omen 15-EK platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the BIOS, charge acceptance was normal from 0% to 100%, and no fault codes triggered during high-CPU load draws.
  • First-cycle calibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement

The Omen's BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers that the old cell wrote over hundreds of cycles. When a new cell goes in, those registers still carry the previous battery's degraded profile. Windows and BIOS both flag poor health because they're reading stale data, not the new cell's actual state. One full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the fuel gauge IC to rewrite those registers against the new cell. After that cycle, the health warning clears.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve yet. The gauge shows 25% remaining, but the cell voltage under full CPU plus display load drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the display catches up. The laptop cuts power because the BMS is protecting the cell — the gauge reading is simply wrong at that point. Run two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles without interrupting and the fuel gauge IC will map the new cell's curve accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Windows show the new battery as 0% or "plugged in, not charging" right after I installed it?

The fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data written by the old cell — it hasn't mapped the new cell's charge state yet. Plug in the charger, leave the laptop alone for 15 minutes, and let the BMS re-initialise. If it stays at 0%, power off completely, unplug, hold the power button for 10 seconds to clear residual charge from the board, then reconnect the charger and power on.

My Omen shows 49Wh in BIOS but Windows reports a different Wh rating in power settings — is the battery faulty?

It isn't a fault. The BIOS reads the rated Wh figure stored in the cell's EEPROM — 49.67Wh for this pack. Windows calculates Wh dynamically from the fuel gauge IC's current state-of-charge reading, which fluctuates until the cell completes a calibration cycle. After one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff and an uninterrupted charge to 100%, both figures align. No return or replacement needed.

The battery charges fine but the gauge jumps erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of unplugging. What's causing that?

The fuel gauge IC on the Omen 15-EK uses a learning algorithm that needs at least two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles to map a new cell's voltage curve accurately. Until those cycles complete, the reported percentage swings because the IC is interpolating against the old cell's curve. Each full cycle tightens the calibration. By cycle three, the jumps stop and the gauge tracks the actual cell voltage correctly.
