Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 14ABR8 — 11.31V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (5B11K09313)
This is an 11.31V, 4100mAh (46.37Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 14ABR8 series. It fits models including the 82XL000JHH, 82XL0018MJ, 82XL001QPH, 82XL0020SB, and over 126 additional 14ABR8 variants. OEM cross-references include 5B11K09313, 5B11K09314, L22B3PF2, L22C3PF2, L22M3PF2, and related L22-series part numbers.
- 14ABR8 series compatibility: All covered models run the same 11.31V three-cell architecture with a shared connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. Lenovo used multiple OEM part numbers across production batches — 5B11K09313, 5B11K09314, 5B11K09317, and the L22 series — but the electrical spec and physical form factor are identical across all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the IdeaPad Slim 3 14ABR8 platform. The BMS handshook correctly, charge current ramped normally from CC to CV phase, and the protection circuit tripped at expected cutoff thresholds without false positives.
- Post-install recalibration on the IdeaPad Slim 3: After fitting this battery, run a full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle on the Slim 3 and clears the inaccurate health or capacity warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement
The IdeaPad Slim 3 BIOS reads health data cached from the previous cell's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS has no learn data for it and flags the battery as degraded or unknown. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% — this forces the BIOS learn cycle to write fresh calibration data against the new cell chemistry.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. It estimates remaining capacity based on that old profile, so the percentage shown on screen no longer maps accurately to actual cell voltage. Under full CPU plus display load, the new cell hits voltage thresholds the BIOS expects to see at near-zero, and the system cuts power to protect itself. Two to three full discharge and recharge cycles recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and stop the premature shutdowns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" right after I installed it — did I get a dead cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the IdeaPad Slim 3 is reading EEPROM data left over from the old battery. It has no calibration data for the new cell yet, so it reports zero or unknown capacity. Run the laptop from full charge down to automatic hibernate, then charge uninterrupted back to 100%. After one to two cycles like this, the gauge IC locks onto the new cell's voltage curve and the percentage reads correctly.
The Lenovo Vantage app shows the new battery's Wh rating as lower than the spec on the listing — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Wh figure shown in Vantage pulls from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated design capacity from manufacturing. That figure can differ slightly from the actual measured chemistry capacity of the replacement cell. The discrepancy is a data field mismatch, not a real capacity loss. Charge the battery fully and check Vantage again after two calibration cycles — the reported figure stabilises once the fuel gauge IC has completed its learn pass.
My IdeaPad Slim 3 won't charge the new battery above 80% — is the charge limit locked in BIOS?
Yes — Lenovo BIOS on this platform includes a Conservation Mode setting that caps charging at 60% or 80% to reduce long-term cell wear. It is enabled by default on some units and can be toggled on or off inside the Lenovo Vantage app under Power → Battery Settings → Battery Charge Threshold. Disable Conservation Mode, plug in, and the battery will charge to 100%.
