Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Pavilion X360 11.6 — 7.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HV02XL)
This is a 7.6V, 4000mAh (30.4Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the HP Pavilion X360 11.6 convertible laptop. It fits the Pavilion X360 11-K series, including the 11-K064NR and 11-K013CL, along with 157 additional variants. It replaces OEM part numbers HV02XL, HSTNN-LB6P, TPN-Q164, TPN-W112, 796219-421, 796355-005, and 796219-541.
- Pavilion X360 11-K series compatibility: All models in this line share the same 7.6V dual-cell architecture, identical BMS handshake protocol, and the same physical connector pinout — which is why one battery covers the full 11-K range despite regional SKU differences.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Pavilion X360 11-K unit. The BMS accepted the handshake cleanly, charge negotiation stepped through the expected CC/CV phases, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff without requiring a manual reset.
- BIOS learn cycle after installation: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the Pavilion X360 reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap
The HP EC firmware stores charge history and cycle count in EEPROM on the old battery pack. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads no prior data and flags the battery as unknown or degraded. This is a firmware state problem, not a fault with the new cell. Running the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge-to-100% sequence gives the EC enough data to recalculate health accurately. After one or two full cycles, the health indicator should update to normal.
Pavilion X360 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual chemistry. The percentage shown is based on stale voltage-to-capacity mapping from the old pack. Under full CPU plus display load — common when the X360 is used flat as a tablet — voltage drops faster than the gauge expects, triggering an emergency shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run two full discharge and charge cycles without interruption and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate its curve to match the new cell at 3.0V per cell cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions
HP Pavilion X360 shows 0% and won't charge at all after I put the new battery in — is the cell dead?
It's almost always an EEPROM handshake issue, not a dead cell. The EC firmware doesn't recognise the new pack until it receives valid data from the BMS. Plug in the AC adapter, leave it connected for 10–15 minutes without pressing the power button, then power on. If the charge LED activates and Windows shows charging, run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to complete the learn cycle.
Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating in Device Manager after swapping the battery — it says 37Wh but the new cell is 30.4Wh. What's wrong?
The Wh figure in Device Manager is pulled from the EEPROM of whichever pack was last fully calibrated — in this case the old cell's stored data is still being read. This is a firmware reporting issue, not a capacity problem with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge cycle to hibernate cutoff and a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the EC rewrites the stored Wh value to match the actual cell chemistry and Device Manager will update to reflect 30.4Wh.
New battery installed but charge stops at 80% and the laptop won't charge past that no matter how long it's plugged in.
HP's BIOS includes a Battery Care Mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear — it's enabled by default on many Pavilion X360 units and survives a battery swap. Open HP Support Assistant or go to BIOS setup (F10 at boot), find Battery Care Mode or Adaptive Battery Charging, and disable it. Once off, charge the battery to 100% on the next cycle and confirm the cap is lifted.
