Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Presario B3000 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (375942-001)
This 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the HP Presario B3000 and B3800 series notebooks. It covers OEM part numbers 375942-001, 375974-001, HSTNN-A10C, APBT01A, APBT01B, APBT01C, M62044L, and W62144L. The connector, BMS handshake, and cell configuration match the factory specification for this platform.
- B3000 and B3800 platform compatibility: All models in this cluster — B3800 CTO, B3801, B3801AP and the broader B3000 family — share the same 11.1V three-cell rail and use an identical connector pinout and BMS communication protocol, which is why one part number covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and load cycle on the B3800 platform. The BMS reported state-of-charge correctly, charge termination triggered cleanly at 12.6V, and the BIOS accepted the pack without a hardware fault flag.
- First-cycle calibration on the B3000: After installing, run the notebook on battery until it hibernates from low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the fuel gauge IC to map its discharge curve against the new cells and clears the inaccurate health warning the BIOS logs after every pack swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting the new pack
The HP Presario BIOS reads health status from EEPROM data written by the previous cell's charge controller. When a new pack is fitted, that EEPROM history does not match the fresh cell, so the BIOS flags it as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge resets the learn cycle. After two or three full cycles the BIOS health indicator will update to reflect the actual cell condition.
Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load before the fuel gauge IC expects it to. The fuel gauge is calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve, so its percentage reading and the actual voltage no longer match. The pack hits roughly 9.9V under load and the BMS cuts power while the OS still shows charge remaining. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full recharge cycles — the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate its curve against the new cells and the early shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The HP Presario BIOS shows "0% available (plugged in, charging)" on the new battery — is the pack dead?
No — this is the BIOS reading stale EEPROM data from the previous cell's charge history rather than the new pack's actual state. The fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve, so the reported percentage is meaningless for the first cycle or two. Run the notebook down to hibernate on battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one or two full cycles the BIOS will read the pack correctly.
Windows shows the new battery as 48Wh but HP Support Assistant reports it as a different Wh rating — which is correct?
The 48.84Wh figure in the product data is the actual measured cell capacity. HP Support Assistant reads the Wh value stored in the pack's EEPROM, which reflects the original OEM rating and may differ slightly from what the new cells deliver at the chemistry level. The discrepancy is a display artefact, not a capacity defect. Confirm the real-world capacity by running a full discharge cycle and checking that the notebook reaches hibernate rather than cutting off early.
The replacement battery charges to 80% then stops — the charge indicator just stays solid without reaching 100%.
Some HP BIOS versions include a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell wear. This is a BIOS-controlled firmware setting, not a fault in the replacement battery. Go to BIOS Setup (F10 at POST), find the Battery Care Function or similar setting under Power Management, and disable it or set the threshold to 100%. Save and exit, then recharge — the pack will charge to full.
