Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HTC Touch Pro HD / Touch HD — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BLAC160)
This is a 3.7V, 2700mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the HTC Touch Pro HD and Touch HD smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers BLAC160, 35H00120-01M, and BA S340. The battery slots into the standard rear compartment on the Blackstone platform devices.
- Touch Pro HD and Touch HD platform fit: Both devices share the same Blackstone hardware platform, which means they use identical battery footprints, connector pinouts, and BMS handshake protocols — one cell fits the entire family.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full discharge-charge cycle on a Touch HD unit. The BMS accepted the handshake on first connect, charge IC engaged at the expected 4.2V cutoff, and protection circuitry tripped correctly on a simulated overdischarge at 2.75V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge accessory and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve to work from before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Touch HD after a cell swap
This is a voltage-cliff failure, not a capacity problem. Under heavy load — radio modem, screen at full brightness, GPS active — the new cell's internal resistance causes a sharp voltage drop that the fuel gauge IC reads as a dead cell. The phone shuts off even though the coulomb counter still shows charge remaining. Running one full discharge cycle down to automatic cutoff, then charging uninterrupted to 100%, lets the gauge remap the cell's actual voltage curve and eliminates most premature shutdowns.
Phone reporting wrong battery percentage after replacement
The fuel gauge IC on the Blackstone platform stores learned discharge data from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still referencing the old cell's internal resistance and capacity curve, so percentage readings drift — sometimes jumping 10–15 points in either direction. This is not a faulty battery. Force a full recalibration by draining the phone to automatic shutdown, then charging it to 100% without interruption. After one complete cycle the percentage reporting stabilises and tracks the new cell accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Touch HD won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS has most likely tripped into lockout after the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC needs to push a trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout and allow normal charging to resume. If the charging indicator appears within that window, the cell is recovering; let it charge fully to 4.2V before booting.
Fast charging stopped working on my Touch Pro HD right after fitting this battery — the phone charges but much more slowly than before.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS presents a higher impedance to the charge IC than the worn original cell did. The phone's charge controller interprets this as an incompatible or suspect source and drops back to standard current. Run one full charge to 100% at the slow rate, then disconnect and discharge normally through use. On the second charge cycle the charge IC re-evaluates cell impedance and, if within spec, resumes the higher charge current automatically.
The battery percentage on my Touch HD keeps jumping around erratically — it was at 45%, then jumped to 62%, then dropped to 30% in a few minutes.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell discharge curve — it loses tracking between the coulomb counter and the actual cell voltage. The jumps are largest in the first two to three cycles after installation. Do a full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a full charge to 100%, twice in a row. After two complete cycles the IC locks onto the new cell's curve and percentage readings settle to within 3–5% accuracy.
