Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei MatePad Pro — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB27D8C8ECW-12)
This is a 3.8V, 7150mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Huawei MatePad Pro. It fits models MRX-AL09, MRX-AL19, and MRX-W09. It slots in where the original HB27D8C8ECW-12 cell sat before capacity degraded from repeated charge cycles.
- MatePad Pro MRX series coverage: The AL09, AL19, and W09 variants share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a MatePad Pro unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge IC ramped normally, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that almost always appear after a swap.
MatePad Pro shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. When display brightness, WiFi, and active apps pull load simultaneously, voltage drops faster than the gauge expects — the BMS reads it as a critical low and cuts power prematurely. The fix is one full recalibration cycle: discharge to automatic shutdown, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle the gauge maps correctly to the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.
Fast charging unavailable on MatePad Pro after battery replacement
Huawei's proprietary fast charge protocol requires a handshake between the charger and the charge IC. On first use after a swap, the system may default to standard 5V charging while it completes that negotiation cycle. Use the original Huawei SuperCharge adapter — third-party USB-PD chargers will not trigger the fast charge handshake. If fast charge still does not activate after one full charge cycle with the OEM adapter, reseat the battery connector and confirm it is fully latched before trying again.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MatePad Pro shows 40% battery but the screen just went black and it won't turn on — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell and misfires the low-voltage cutoff well above the actual empty point. Plug in the OEM charger and let it charge for at least 15 minutes before powering on — the cell still has charge, the gauge just lost track of it. After it boots, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to recalibrate the gauge. Once that cycle is complete, the reported percentage will track the actual cell voltage accurately.
The battery percentage on my MatePad Pro is jumping around — drops 10% in minutes, then sits at the same number for an hour. Is the new battery faulty?
The new cell is almost certainly fine — this is fuel gauge drift. The gauge IC learned the old cell's discharge curve over hundreds of cycles, and those calibration values don't erase on swap. We see this consistently in bench testing immediately after installation. Run one complete cycle — discharge to automatic shutoff under normal use, then charge to 100% without interruption — and the percentage display will stabilise against the new cell's actual curve.
My MatePad Pro gets noticeably warm while charging after I fitted the new battery — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth during charging is normal. The charge IC is pushing current into a fresh cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile than the aged original, and the heat generated is within the thermal limits the system is built around. If the tablet is too hot to hold comfortably or charging stops and restarts repeatedly, disconnect the charger and check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and generates excess heat. Under normal conditions, warmth during a fast charge session with the OEM adapter is expected and not a fault.
