Fits Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019 models SM-T290, SM-T295, SM-T295N — replaces OEM part SWD-WT-N8.
Voltage 3.85V and 5100mAh capacity match the original cell output and charge capacity exactly.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab — orientation marked on the housing.
We bench-tested the BMS against Samsung's fuel gauge IC — cell accepted charge negotiation on first cycle.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — resets fuel gauge calibration against the new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SWD-WT-N8)

This 3.85V, 5100mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original SWD-WT-N8 cell in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019. It fits the SM-T290, SM-T295, and SM-T295N models. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or the tablet shuts down unexpectedly under normal use.

  • SM-T290 and SM-T295 platform: Both the Wi-Fi-only SM-T290 and the LTE SM-T295 share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and charge IC. One replacement cell fits the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on SM-T290 and SM-T295 units. The charge IC accepted the cell on first connection, BMS handshake completed without fault codes, and the tablet reached full charge without thermal events.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this cell, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it mid-cycle. That single full cycle resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear after a swap.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% after battery replacement

The fuel gauge IC carries calibration data from the old cell into the new installation. When display backlight and Wi-Fi or LTE radio draw simultaneously, the combined load causes a brief voltage drop. If the gauge still maps that drop against the old cell's curve, it reads the voltage as critically low and triggers shutdown — even though the new cell has charge remaining. One full discharge to automatic cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% realigns the gauge to the new cell's actual voltage curve. After that cycle, shutdowns in the 15–25% range should stop.

Fast charging not available after fitting the new cell

Adaptive fast charge on the Tab A 8.0 2019 requires the charge IC to complete one accepted charge handshake with the new cell before it enables higher current delivery. If you plug in immediately after installation and the percentage display is still unstable, the IC may default to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Let the tablet complete one full charge cycle at the standard rate first. On the next charge after that cycle, fast charge should re-engage automatically — no settings change needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is jumping from 30% to 5% and shutting off — did I get a faulty battery?

The cell itself is not the issue. The fuel gauge IC inside the tablet was calibrated to the worn-out original cell, and it's still using that old data to read the new one. Discharge the tablet completely until it shuts itself off, then plug it in and charge it straight to 100% without interrupting the cycle or using the tablet mid-charge. That single cycle resets the IC calibration against the new cell's actual voltage curve, and the erratic percentage jumps stop.

The battery percentage drops fast from 100% but then slows down — is the capacity wrong?

Capacity is correct at 5100mAh. What you're seeing is fuel gauge drift — the IC's discharge model is still weighted toward the old cell's degraded curve, which compresses the top end and stretches the bottom. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that recalibration cycle, the gauge redistributes percentage across the full cell capacity and the drop from 100% levels out to a normal rate.

Fast charging worked before I replaced the battery — now it only shows standard charging. What changed?

The charge IC defaults to 5V standard charging on first contact with a new cell until it completes one full accepted charge handshake. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Let the tablet finish one complete standard-rate charge from low to 100% without interruption. On the following charge session, the IC recognises the cell as verified and re-enables adaptive fast charge automatically.
