Fits Huawei Nova 6 and replaces OEM battery HB446589EEW or HB446589EEC.
3.85V nominal, 3900mAh capacity delivers full charge cycles to the Nova 6 processor, display, and modem.
Connector slides straight onto the Nova 6 motherboard contact with no locking tab — alignment critical.
We bench-tested this cell against a WLZ-AL10 board; BMS accepted charge at 2A without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Nova 6 (WLZ-AL10 / WLZ-AN00) — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB446589EEW)

This is a 3900mAh, 3.85V lithium-polymer cell for the Huawei Nova 6 smartphone. It fits the WLZ-AL10 and WLZ-AN00 variants and carries OEM part numbers HB446589EEW and HB446589EEC. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • Nova 6 WLZ-AL10 and WLZ-AN00 compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, so one cell covers both boards without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge cycles on a Nova 6 board and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge IC handshake, held the 4.40V charge ceiling, and triggered protection cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Nova 6 after a cell swap

The Nova 6's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell after a swap. When the new cell's open-circuit voltage drops into a range the IC was not expecting, it reports a false low-state and triggers a protective shutdown. The modem and display together pull enough current at that state of charge to cause a voltage sag the IC interprets as a dead cell. One full discharge-charge cycle — without fast charging — resets the coulomb counter and clears the mismatch.

USB-PD fast charge not recognised on the first cycle after replacement

Huawei's proprietary fast-charge protocol requires the charge IC and BMS to complete a handshake before high-current delivery is authorised. On a fresh cell the BMS may not respond to the fast-charge negotiation until it has completed one standard charge cycle. Plug into a 5V standard charger, let it charge fully, then reconnect the fast charger. If the phone still refuses the protocol, check that the flex connector is fully seated — a partial connection interrupts the BMS communication line.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nova 6 keeps shutting off around 25% even though the new battery is fully charged — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to the old cell's discharge curve and hasn't updated to the new one. At around 25%, the voltage sags under modem and screen load faster than the IC expects, so it triggers a shutdown before the cell is actually depleted. Run one full discharge down to automatic power-off, then charge to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in the drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Probably not dead — lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. Plug into a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-initialisation threshold. Once voltage recovers, the BMS releases the lockout and the phone boots normally. If there is no response after 45 minutes on charge, reseat the battery flex connector and try again.

The Nova 6 feels warm near the back where the battery sits during the first few charges — is that normal?

A new lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through conditioning cycles. The charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, which generates more heat than you would see on a broken-in cell. This is normal for the first two or three charges and settles as the cell conditions. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, switch to a standard 5W charger for the first cycle instead of fast charging.
