Fits Hytera BP510, BP515, BP560, BP568 radios; replaces OEM part number BL1507 directly.
7.4V, 1350mAh lithium-ion delivers full talk and standby time for extended shifts without mid-operation battery swaps.
Gold contact strip and single locking tab seat flush into BP510 dock; orientation is keyed and cannot reverse-insert.
We bench-tested this cell in a BP510 radio under sustained PTT load — BMS accepted dock voltage handshake on first insertion, no fault light.
On first insertion into a BP510 charger dock showing fault LED, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hytera BP510 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL1507)

This is a 7.4V, 1350mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Hytera BP510 series portable two-way radio. It fits the BP510, BP515, BP560, and BP568 among compatible models. The BL1507 part number matches the OEM specification for voltage rail and connector format.

  • BP510 / BP515 / BP560 / BP568 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, contact pin layout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers the group without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through transmit load on a BP510 body. The BMS held the voltage rail stable through repeated PTT events and did not trigger overcurrent cutoff under normal keying patterns.
  • Contact strip seating on first charge: If the charger dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The BP510 dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before charging begins.

Why the BP510 cuts out mid-transmission on a freshly inserted BL1507

A new Li-ion pack ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V per cell, not full charge. When the BP510 keys up for transmit, the RF output draws a spike of current that can momentarily pull the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold. The radio drops transmission, and the user sees a low-battery indicator even though the pack is new. Charge the pack fully before first use — the dock green light confirms the cells are at 4.2V per cell and the BMS is ready for transmit load.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after a full charge cycle

The BP510 uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator — it reads the pack voltage at rest and maps it to a bar level. A new cell can carry a small surface charge that drops within the first few minutes of radio operation, shifting the bar count down by one. This is not a fault with the pack. Run one full transmit session, let the dock complete a full charge cycle again, and the indicator will stabilise at the correct bar level for the actual state of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BP510 cuts out every time I press PTT on a brand-new BL1507 — is the pack faulty?

The pack is almost certainly at storage voltage, not full charge. When you key up, the transmit current spike pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff, and the radio drops mid-transmission. Put the pack in the dock and charge it fully before use — the dock green light confirms the cells are at 4.2V per cell and ready for transmit load.

The BP510 dock flashes a fault LED when I insert the new battery and never starts charging — what clears it?

The dock needs a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip on the battery with a dry cloth to remove any residue or oxidation, and reseat it firmly. If the fault LED persists after two clean insertions, check that the radio's own dock contacts are free of debris — a single dirty pin blocks the handshake entirely.

The BP510 drops to reduced TX power halfway through a long shift even though the bar indicator shows two bars — why?

Two bars means the pack voltage is above the low-battery threshold at rest, but sustained RF output draws enough current to cause voltage sag under load — the transmitter throttles back to protect the final amplifier stage. This happens faster on a pack with aged or partially degraded cells. Check the resting voltage when the radio is idle — if it reads below 7.0V after a full charge cycle, the pack is not holding charge and should be replaced.
