Fits Hytera PNC370 portable digital radio, replaces OEM battery BL3101.
3.6V, 3000mAh Li-ion cell delivers steady voltage under sustained transmit RF load.
Connector slides into radio slot with spring-clip latch; gold contacts face the pack body.
We bench-tested this cell in a PNC370 dock—BMS accepted charge cycle cleanly, no fault codes.
On first insertion into the charger dock, remove the battery and wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly—the Hytera platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hytera PNC370 — 3.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL3101)

The BL3101 is a 3.6V, 3000mAh lithium-ion battery for the Hytera PNC370 portable digital two-way radio. It slots directly into the PNC370's battery bay and communicates with the radio's BMS via the same contact array as the original pack. Capacity figure is taken from the product data — 10.8Wh total energy.

  • PNC370 platform fit: The PNC370 uses a single-cell 3.6V nominal rail with a three-point gold contact strip for BMS handshake and charge control. This pack matches that voltage rail and contact layout, so the radio's charge management circuit recognises it without firmware prompts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BL3101 through a full charge cycle on a PNC370 dock and monitored the BMS handshake. The protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff and the dock transitioned from charge to standby without fault flags.
  • First-insertion contact check: If the charger dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The PNC370 dock requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Why the PNC370 drops to reduced TX power mid-shift on a new BL3101

A new cell shipped at storage voltage — typically 3.7V to 3.8V — has not yet reached full charge capacity. Under sustained RF transmit output, the cell voltage sags faster than a fully conditioned pack. The PNC370's power management steps down transmit power when cell voltage falls below its TX threshold, which users notice as weaker signal or shorter range. Run one full charge cycle before deploying the battery in a high-traffic shift.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after inserting BL3101

The PNC370 reads battery level through voltage thresholds, not a fuel gauge chip. A new pack at storage voltage sits below the top threshold, so the radio displays one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. This is not a capacity fault. Charge the pack fully — dock until the charger LED goes green — and the bar indicator will align correctly on next power-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

The PNC370 dock flashes a fault LED and never starts charging the new BL3101 — what's wrong?

The dock fault LED usually means the pack voltage is below the dock's acceptance threshold, or the gold contacts didn't make a clean connection on insertion. Remove the BL3101, wipe the three gold contacts with a dry cloth, and reseat the pack firmly until it clicks. If the fault clears, let it charge fully before use. If it persists, measure the pack terminals with a multimeter — a reading below 3.0V means the cell needs a recovery charge from a compatible external charger before the dock will accept it.

The radio cuts out completely the moment I press PTT, but powers on fine at idle — is the BL3101 faulty?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty cell. The transmit current spike when PTT is pressed can exceed the BMS protection threshold if the pack is cold, partially charged, or the contacts have high resistance. Check that the gold contact strip is clean and fully seated. Charge the pack to 100% and allow it to reach room temperature — the BMS trip threshold is tighter at low temperature and low state of charge.

The BL3101 was stored in a drawer for a few months and the PNC370 won't recognise it at all now — can it be recovered?

Extended storage at low voltage can push the cell below the BMS re-initialisation threshold, causing the radio and dock to ignore the pack entirely. Remove the battery and measure the terminal voltage — if it reads below 2.5V, the internal protection circuit has locked out. Some external chargers with a recovery or boost mode can bring the cell back above 3.0V, at which point the BMS re-initialises and the dock will accept it for a normal charge cycle.
