Replaces I-Mate JAMA 201 and P306 models using XDRDG08001 or P306 original battery part numbers.
Supplies 3.7V and 1100mAh to power the phone's modem, display, and application processor during calls and standby.
Connector type is proprietary I-Mate contact; slides into the battery slot from the top with the gold tab facing inward.
We bench-tested this cell on the JAMA 201 charge circuit; the BMS accepted voltage ramp and completed full charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

I-Mate JAMA 201 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XDRDG08001)

This is a 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the I-Mate JAMA 201 and P306 smartphones. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same charge and protection circuitry the device shipped with. Capacity is 1100mAh (4.07Wh), matching the OEM cell specification.

  • JAMA 201 and P306 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through full charge and discharge on the JAMA 201 platform. The onboard BMS accepted charge current without fault flags and balanced cells within expected tolerance across three full cycles.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve for the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Why the JAMA 201 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the JAMA 201 stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC keeps applying the old curve, so the percentage shown on screen drifts from real remaining capacity. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted full charge resets the coulomb counter and forces the IC to map the new cell correctly.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display draws a brief high current and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge registers the drop. On a new cell, this is almost always a calibration issue rather than a defective battery. Run one complete discharge cycle without interruption — let the phone shut itself off — then charge fully to 100%. If shutdowns continue after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a partial contact raises impedance and worsens voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The I-Mate JAMA 201 powers off by itself when the screen brightness is at full — is that the new battery?

Yes, almost always on a fresh cell swap. A high-brightness screen draws enough current to cause a brief voltage sag, and if the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell curve, the BMS reads that sag as critically low voltage and shuts the phone down. Run one full discharge-to-shutdown and an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this recalibrates the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop in most cases. If it continues after two full cycles, reseat the battery connector.

Fast charging stopped working after I put this battery in the JAMA 201 — what happened?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge controller sometimes falls back to standard current because the new BMS has not yet completed its handshake with the charge IC. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Charge the phone to 100% on the standard rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — fast charge typically re-engages from the second session onward once the BMS registers a full cycle.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if this one dropped below approximately 2.5V the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone should power on normally. If the screen stays blank past the 30-minute mark, try a second charger to rule out a cable fault.
