Fits Ingenico iWE280 and IWL220 series terminals; replaces OEM part 295006044, 296110884, F26401964, F26402274, F26402298, L01J44006, L01J44007.
3.7V 2600mAh Li-ion cell delivers 9.62Wh — sufficient for a full shift of transaction processing on iWE280 hardware.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; polarity is keyed and will not force if reversed.
We ran full transaction cycles on the iWE280 bench unit; the BMS accepted the new cell on first boot with no fault codes or cutoff trips.
After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying in live environments — the terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ingenico iWL220 / iWE280 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (295006044)

This 3.7V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM cell in the Ingenico iWE280, iWL220, iWL220 GPRS, and iWL250 payment terminals. It matches the original form factor and connector, so it fits without modification. Capacity figure is sourced from the product data — 9.62Wh.

  • iWL220 and iWE280 platform fit: These terminals share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full group because Ingenico standardised the battery interface across this portable terminal generation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full boot, transaction sequence, and receipt print on the iWL220. The BMS accepted the handshake on first power-up and voltage held steady through the combined wireless and printer draw without a trip event.
  • First deployment prep for POS terminals: After fitting the battery, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying the terminal on a live counter. The charge indicator in Ingenico terminals maps capacity during normal operation, not during a static charge hold — one complete power cycle sets the gauge correctly.

Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap

The iWL220 and iWE280 pull a short current spike when the receipt printer fires. On a new cell that hasn't completed a full charge-discharge cycle, the BMS can read that spike as an overcurrent event and cut power. This causes the terminal to reboot mid-sale — appearing as a software fault when it's actually a BMS protection trip. Run the terminal through two or three complete transaction cycles after the first charge and the BMS threshold normalises to the printer load. If resets continue, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.

Terminal won't power on after sitting unused in a drawer

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A terminal left uncharged for six months or more can have a cell voltage below 2.5V — the point where most BMS circuits lock out to prevent damage. The terminal shows nothing on screen and won't respond to the power button. Connect the terminal to its original charger and leave it for 30–40 minutes before attempting to power on; most Ingenico chargers include a trickle-charge stage that brings the cell back above the 2.8V recovery threshold before normal charging begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ingenico terminal keeps rebooting every time a receipt prints — is that the battery?

Yes, and it's a BMS trip, not a software fault. The receipt printer pulls a brief current spike that a new, uncycled battery can misread as overcurrent — the BMS cuts power to protect the cell. Run the terminal through three complete transaction-and-print cycles after its first full charge. That trains the BMS to the printer load and the resets stop.

The charge indicator has been stuck at 99% since I fitted the new battery — is it faulty?

It's not faulty. Ingenico terminals use a charge IC that holds the cell in top-off mode when a new high-capacity cell is first installed — the indicator parks at 99% until the IC confirms full saturation and hands off to the gauge. Let the terminal charge uninterrupted for a full cycle, then discharge it through normal use. The indicator will drop off 99% and track normally from that point.

The terminal gets noticeably warm during busy periods — is that a battery problem?

The heat is from combined load, not a defective cell. During peak periods, the iWL220 and iWE280 run the display backlight, wireless radio, and receipt printer simultaneously — that draws enough current to generate heat across the battery and the main board. As long as the terminal stays warm rather than hot and doesn't shut down, it's within normal operating range. If it shuts down on thermal cutoff, check that the battery compartment cover is fully closed and the vents on the base are not blocked.
