Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Insta360 One X3 — 3.89V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CINAQBT/A)
This 3.89V, 2550mAh Li-ion cell is a direct replacement for the OEM CINAQBT/A battery in the Insta360 One X3 action camera. The One X3 runs dual image sensors and a dedicated 360-degree processing pipeline, both drawing from this single cell. Capacity figures come from the product data — 9.92Wh at rated voltage.
- One X3 compatibility: The One X3 uses a proprietary cell format with a specific connector and BMS communication protocol. This cell matches that connector and voltage rail exactly, so the camera's battery management system can read charge state without throwing an authentication error.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the One X3 body with 5.7K 360-degree recording active. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, reported accurate state-of-charge, and held voltage above the camera's low-battery cutoff threshold through a full discharge cycle.
- First-cycle calibration on the One X3: Run the first full charge inside the camera body or the official Insta360 hub charger — not a third-party USB-C adapter. The One X3 BMS maps its battery-remaining display against a charge curve it learns on the first cycle. Skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings during shooting.
Why the One X3 shows a dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
The One X3 stores a voltage-to-percentage map from its last known cell. A new cell with a slightly different discharge curve can sit at 3.7V while the camera interprets that as near-zero charge. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty cell. Performing one complete charge-to-full cycle via the OEM charger or camera body resets the BMS reference map. After that cycle, the indicator tracks accurately against the new cell's actual curve.
Battery percentage jumping erratically during 360-degree video recording
Dual-sensor capture and real-time stitching cause large, rapid swings in current draw. If the BMS reference map hasn't been calibrated to the new cell, the voltage sag under high load gets misread as a steep capacity drop. The percentage can jump from 60% to 20% in seconds, then recover when load eases. Fix this by completing one full charge cycle inside the camera body, then discharging fully under normal shooting load before recharging — this locks the BMS to the correct voltage thresholds at 3.89V nominal.

Frequently Asked Questions
My One X3 shows "No Battery" or refuses to power on with the new cell installed — what's causing that?
The One X3 BMS runs an authentication handshake on first insertion, and a cell that hasn't been seen by that camera body can fail the check and return a no-battery state. Remove the cell, reinsert it firmly, then place the camera on charge using the official Insta360 charging hub or a USB-C cable connected to the camera body itself — not the cell in isolation. One full charge cycle from within the camera body is usually enough for the BMS to accept the cell. If the camera still rejects it after a full charge cycle, check that the gold contact pads on the cell aren't dirty — clean with a dry cloth and retry.
My shot count is much lower than expected — the cell seems to drain faster than the original did.
The One X3 pulls current from stabilisation, dual-sensor processing, the touchscreen, and wireless connectivity all at once — actual draw is substantially higher than a simple capacity-divided-by-draw calculation suggests. Cold ambient temperatures above 0°C but below 10°C also shrink usable capacity noticeably because Li-ion internal resistance rises and the BMS cuts off earlier to protect the cell. Check your shooting mode: 5.7K 360-degree at 30fps with stabilisation active draws significantly more than lower-resolution modes. Switch off Wi-Fi and the live preview screen when not needed to reduce background draw.
The One X3 gets warm during sustained recording sessions — is the battery causing that?
Heat during sustained 360-degree video comes primarily from the image processor and dual sensors, not the cell itself. That said, a cell under sustained high-current draw does add heat, and the One X3's compact body has no active cooling — all components share the same thermal mass. If the body becomes uncomfortable to hold, pause recording for 60–90 seconds to let the processor thermal-throttle back to baseline. Check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully — a poor contact increases resistance at the terminal, which adds localised heat directly at the cell interface.
