Fits PatrolEyes SC-DV5 and SC-DV5-2 body cameras; replaces OEM battery SC-DV5-RB.
This 3.7V 1250mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 4.63Wh to sustain continuous video recording in field operations.
Connector slides into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested the BMS on first charge cycle; the cell accepted the charger handshake and held voltage stable under sustained draw.
On first use, charge fully in the camera body before extended recording — the SC-DV5 firmware maps charge state differently to new cell curves initially.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

PatrolEyes SC-DV5 / SC-DV5-2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SC-DV5-RB)

This is a 3.7V, 1250mAh (4.63Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the PatrolEyes SC-DV5 and SC-DV5-2 body cameras. It physically fits the same slot as the original SC-DV5-RB cell and connects to the same BMS circuit. Capacity and voltage match the factory spec exactly.

  • SC-DV5 and SC-DV5-2 compatibility: Both models use the same battery bay dimensions and the same 3.7V single-cell BMS handshake. The connector orientation and cell footprint — 52 x 34 x 10.60mm — are identical across both variants, so one replacement covers both units.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SC-DV5 BMS at full charge and discharge. The protection circuit responded correctly to end-of-charge cutoff and low-voltage cutoff without tripping false flags or locking the camera out of record mode.
  • First-install charge cycle on the SC-DV5: Run the first full charge inside the camera body using the OEM cable before heavy field use. The SC-DV5 BMS maps the battery-remaining indicator to the discharge curve during this first cycle — skipping it causes the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.

Why the SC-DV5 locks to standby mode before the battery reads empty

The SC-DV5 uses a voltage-threshold system to protect the LiPo cell from deep discharge. When the cell drops below roughly 3.4V under load, the camera exits record mode and forces standby even though the indicator may still show one bar. This is the BMS cutoff working as intended, not a fault with the replacement cell. A fresh charge cycle resets the threshold, and the camera returns to normal operation immediately after recharging.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the SC-DV5 display

This happens when the camera's internal indicator table is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve and the new cell discharges along a slightly different voltage slope. The display reads voltage and maps it to a percentage — if the mapping table doesn't match the new cell, the readout skips between values. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body to let the BMS recalibrate. After conditioning, the indicator should track steadily down from 4.2V at full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SC-DV5 shows a dead battery icon right after I installed a fully charged replacement — what's wrong?

The SC-DV5 BMS occasionally rejects a new cell on first install if it hasn't seen a charge cycle originate from within the camera body. Power the camera off, insert the replacement, and run a full charge via the OEM cable connected to the camera — not a standalone charger. Once the camera completes that first internal charge cycle, it accepts the cell and the icon clears. This is a BMS authentication behaviour, not a fault with the replacement.

The SC-DV5 dies in the cold even though the battery was fully charged before going out — is that normal for this cell?

LiPo chemistry loses usable capacity as temperature drops, and the SC-DV5's 1250mAh cell is small enough that cold-weather capacity loss is noticeable. Below roughly 10°C, internal resistance rises and the BMS cutoff voltage trips earlier under the camera's recording load. Keep the spare battery in an inside jacket pocket until you need it — a cell that starts warm holds its voltage above the cutoff threshold longer in the field.

The SC-DV5 stopped recording mid-shift and now won't power on at all — how do I recover it?

This is a deep-discharge lock. If the LiPo cell dropped below the BMS's hard cutoff — around 2.8V — the protection circuit opens and the camera appears completely dead. Connect it to the OEM charger and leave it for at least 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on — the charger applies a low-current recovery charge to bring the cell back above the re-initialisation threshold. If the camera still won't respond after a full charge, test with a second cell to confirm whether the fault is in the battery or the camera's own charging circuit.
