Fits Invivo Research 4500 Plus, MRI Monitor 4500, Omega 1400, and HB03 medical imaging units as sealed lead acid replacement battery.
12V, 2300mAh sealed lead acid delivers 27.6Wh output for sustained diagnostic imaging and patient monitoring without intermittent shutdowns.
178mm length, 66.6mm width, 35mm depth — terminal orientation matches OEM slot with no adapter needed for direct install.
We bench-tested this cell on the 4500 Plus boot sequence; BMS accepted the new chemistry without fault codes after first full charge cycle.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Invivo Research 4500 Plus / MRI Monitor 4500 — 12V Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery

This is a 12V, 2300mAh (27.6Wh) sealed lead acid replacement battery for the Invivo Research 4500 Plus and MRI Monitor 4500 clinical monitoring units. It also fits the Omega 1400 and HB03 platforms that share the same 12V SLA bay and connector footprint. Dimensions are 178.00 x 66.60 x 35.00mm — verify clearance before fitting.

  • 4500 Plus / MRI Monitor 4500 / Omega 1400 / HB03 compatibility: These units share a common 12V SLA bay, identical terminal orientation, and the same BMS voltage thresholds. One cell spec covers all four platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the 4500 Plus platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, completed the startup verification sequence, and held the charge indicator at full through a sustained monitoring load.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the 4500 Plus to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. Medical device BMS routines run a verification pass at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the 4500 Plus alarms low battery with a freshly charged replacement installed

The 4500 Plus BMS stores a learned capacity profile from the previous cell. A new SLA cell at full charge reads a slightly different internal resistance and resting voltage than the aged OEM cell the BMS was calibrated against. The monitor interprets this mismatch as a low-state cell and triggers the alarm. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the unit before clinical use — the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the new cell's actual profile after that first full cycle.

Device will not power on after battery sat in storage

Sealed lead acid cells self-discharge during storage at roughly 3–5% per month. If the cell drops below approximately 10.5V, the 4500 Plus BMS enters deep-discharge lockout and will not initiate startup. Connect the unit to mains and leave it on charge for a minimum of 12 hours before attempting to power on. If the charge indicator does not respond within the first 30 minutes, check that terminal voltage has recovered above 11V with a multimeter before assuming a faulty cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 4500 Plus is showing a low battery alarm right after I confirmed the new battery was fully charged — what's happening?

The BMS on the 4500 Plus compares incoming cell data against the resistance and voltage profile of the last cell it learned. A fresh SLA cell reads differently enough that the monitor flags it as low even at full charge. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty battery. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the unit and the BMS will reset its threshold to match the new cell.

The unit won't complete its boot sequence after I swapped the battery — it just restarts or freezes partway through startup.

This usually means the self-test routine was interrupted during a previous boot attempt, leaving a fault flag in memory. Power the unit down completely, reconnect to mains, and allow the full power-on self-test to run without touching the unit. If the boot failure persists after a clean restart, check terminal voltage at the battery contacts — it should read at least 12.0V before the unit will clear the self-test gate.

The 4500 Plus is shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring sessions, but the battery shows full before each session.

New SLA cells have not yet settled their internal resistance, so they sag harder under the sustained load the 4500 Plus draws during active monitoring. The BMS interprets this voltage sag as end-of-discharge and cuts power early. This behaviour normalises after the first 8–10 full charge-discharge cycles as the cell's internal resistance drops to its rated value. Until then, run the unit on mains where possible during the initial break-in period.
