This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell for the i.Trek Bluetooth GPS Receiver range, including the M1, M1 BT GPS, and M6. It fits the HXE-W01 platform and restores power to the GPS receiver and Bluetooth radio. Voltage and cell dimensions match the original at 52.96 × 33.64 × 5.15mm.

  • M1, M1 BT GPS, M6 platform fit: These models share the HXE-W01 battery format — same voltage rail, same physical footprint, and the same connector orientation. Swapping between them requires no adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the HXE-W01 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the Bluetooth radio paired correctly at full and low charge states.
  • First fix after battery swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it run a full cold start. With no satellite almanac cached, the first fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once the almanac is written back to memory.

GPS accuracy dropping as battery level falls

Some GPS receivers reduce radio sensitivity at low battery to protect the BMS from voltage sag under full receiver load. On the HXE-W01 platform, this appears as position drift or wider accuracy circles rather than a clean signal loss. The fix is straightforward — keep the cell above 3.5V during active navigation. If accuracy degrades before the low-battery indicator fires, the cell has aged past useful capacity and needs replacement.

Device shuts off without warning during navigation

The on-screen battery indicator on these receivers is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new or aged cell can throw that calibration off, meaning the unit hits its protection cutoff voltage — typically around 3.0V — before the indicator shows a low-battery warning. If this happens, charge the unit fully, then run a complete discharge cycle in active GPS mode to let the indicator recalibrate to the new cell. After one full cycle, the warning should fire before the BMS trips.

My saved routes and POIs disappeared after I replaced the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The HXE-W01 stores routes and points of interest in battery-backed RAM. When the cell is fully removed, that memory loses power and the data clears. Before swapping the battery, export any saved routes to a connected device or note them manually. There is no recovery path once the cell is pulled and the data is gone.

The GPS took over 8 minutes to get a fix after the battery swap — something wrong with the replacement cell?

Nothing is wrong. When the battery is removed, the receiver loses its cached satellite almanac — the data it uses to predict where satellites will be. Without that cache, it runs a cold start, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors to rebuild the almanac from scratch. Leave the unit stationary with a clear view of the sky and it will lock. Every subsequent start after that will be a warm start and will fix in under a minute.

The unit is draining much faster when I'm actively navigating compared to when it's just sitting on standby — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is working correctly. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, position calculations, and display simultaneously — that draw is several times higher than standby, where only the Bluetooth radio is active at low duty cycle. The 1000mAh capacity is unchanged from the original spec. If drain feels excessive, reduce display brightness and disable any track-logging features not in use, which cuts the active draw noticeably.
