Fits JBL Flip 6 portable speaker, replaces OEM part GSP-1S2P-F6D.
3.7V, 5200mAh cell restores full charge capacity on the compact waterproof speaker.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab underneath.
We bench-tested the GSP-1S2P-F6D under sustained 2A audio output; BMS regulated cleanly through discharge cycle.
Discharge the speaker to below 20% at least once monthly before recharging to prevent fuel gauge drift on shallow-cycle use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JBL Flip 6 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GSP-1S2P-F6D)

This is a 3.7V, 5200mAh Li-ion battery for the JBL Flip 6 portable Bluetooth speaker. It fits the JBLFLIP6BLUAM and JBLFLIP6REDAM variants using OEM part number GSP-1S2P-F6D. Replace it when the original cell has degraded from repeated charge cycles and the speaker can no longer hold a useful charge.

  • Flip 6 platform fit: The JBLFLIP6BLUAM and JBLFLIP6REDAM share the same internal battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One battery covers both colour variants without any wiring modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Flip 6's charge controller and confirmed the BMS handshake completed correctly. The protection circuit responded normally to charge termination at 4.2V and low-voltage cutoff at 3.0V.
  • Monthly discharge cycle for the Flip 6: If the speaker sits on a desk and gets topped off constantly, discharge it below 20% at least once a month before recharging. Shallow cycling without a full discharge causes fuel gauge drift and accelerates capacity fade on the Li-ion cell inside the sealed housing.

Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty on the Flip 6

At high volume, the Flip 6 amplifier draws a sharp current spike that a weakened cell cannot sustain. Voltage sags under that combined amp and radio load, and the amplifier clips before the fuel gauge registers low. The speaker sounds distorted or cuts output even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. A fresh 5200mAh cell at full capacity holds the voltage rail steady under that combined amp and radio draw, eliminating the clipping.

Flip 6 not waking from USB-C after deep discharge

If the Flip 6 sits unused for weeks, the cell can drop below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V. At that level, the BMS blocks the charge circuit and the speaker shows no response on USB-C. Connect a USB-A cable instead of USB-C, which bypasses PD negotiation and delivers a trickle current that can bring the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once the indicator light activates, switch to the standard USB-C cable to complete the charge normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Flip 6 plays fine for a short time then Bluetooth drops out at loud volumes — is that the battery?

Yes, and the cause is current sag under combined amplifier and radio draw. At high volume, the amp pulls a spike the degraded cell cannot sustain, and voltage drops far enough that the Bluetooth radio loses its power margin and disconnects. A fresh 5200mAh cell holds the rail stable under that peak load. If Bluetooth drops consistently at high volume but not at low, the battery is the first thing to replace.

The Flip 6 shows a full charge indicator but audio cuts out well before it should — what's happening?

That is fuel gauge drift, caused by years of shallow cycling where the speaker was topped off before dropping below 50%. The cell's actual usable capacity has shrunk, but the gauge hasn't recalibrated to match. The BMS still reports full because it never sees a true low-voltage reference point. Replace the battery and run one full discharge below 20% before the first recharge to let the new cell establish an accurate baseline.

The Flip 6 gets noticeably warm on the outside during long play sessions — is that a battery problem?

Some warmth during extended play is normal — the amplifier and the discharging Li-ion cell both generate heat, and both are enclosed in a sealed fabric housing with limited airflow. If the housing becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, the cell may be venting or under excessive internal resistance from degradation. Check whether the warmth concentrates near the USB-C port end, which sits closest to the battery. If heat is localised there and the speaker shuts off unexpectedly, stop use and replace the battery before charging again.
