Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

K-Touch L820 / L820c — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TBL5995A)
This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh (7.6Wh) Li-ion cell for the K-Touch L820 and L820c smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers TBL5995A and TBE5707B. The battery fits the original battery bay directly and connects via the stock flex connector.
- L820 and L820c compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions (58.50 × 50.90 × 5.30mm), voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the L820 platform. The BMS accepted the charge protocol on the first cycle, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold without requiring a manual reset.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before enabling it again. The fuel gauge IC on the L820 calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's actual discharge curve on that first cycle — skipping this step causes percentage readings to drift or jump erratically for days afterward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the L820 after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell's actual voltage under modem and screen load drops faster than the IC predicts at that state-of-charge window. The phone interprets this voltage sag as a critical low and triggers an emergency shutdown. One full discharge-to-cutoff and recharge cycle forces the IC to remap the curve against the new cell — shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop after that recalibration pass.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC on the L820 pushes the same current into a higher-resistance cell, which generates more heat than you'd see on a well-cycled battery. This is normal for the first three to five charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone still runs hot after five cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and compounds the heating.

Frequently Asked Questions
My K-Touch L820 powered off at 28% — now it won't turn back on. Is the new battery dead?
The phone shut down because the fuel gauge IC triggered a low-voltage cutoff while the discharge curve was still mapped to the old cell. The new battery is not dead — it is in BMS protection lockout. Plug the phone into a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs a trickle charge above 3.0V per cell to exit lockout. Once it boots, run one full discharge-to-cutoff and recharge cycle to let the IC recalibrate.
The L820 shows 100% charge almost immediately after plugging in — but the phone dies within an hour of use. What's wrong?
The coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC is still using the degraded discharge curve from the old cell, so it reports full charge before the new cell is actually topped off. The percentage is wrong, not the battery capacity. Run the phone down until it shuts off on its own, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% in a single session — this resets the IC's reference points and aligns the percentage display to the new cell's actual curve.
Fast charging stopped working after I put the new battery in the L820 — it only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the L820 often defaults to trickle or standard charge mode because the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed its handshake with the phone's power management IC. This is not a fault — it is a one-cycle safety hold. Let the phone complete one full standard charge to 100%, then unplug and discharge it below 20% before plugging back in. Fast charging typically resumes on the second cycle once the BMS handshake is confirmed.
