Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

K-Touch T789 / C980 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TBW5932)
This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the K-Touch T789, C980, C980T, and C988T smartphones. It replaces OEM part number TBW5932 and fits directly into the battery bay on these models. The cell measures 60.60 × 50.11 × 4.42mm — verify your original against those dimensions before ordering.
- T789, C980, C980T, C988T shared platform: These models run the same battery bay geometry and connector pinout. The BMS handshake voltage and thermistor pin placement are identical across the group, so one replacement cell covers all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through charge and full discharge on a C980T. The BMS accepted charge current cleanly, held the low-voltage cutoff at the expected threshold, and did not trip the protection circuit under normal screen-on load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve before fast charge pushes higher current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the K-Touch C980 and T789
This happens when the cell cannot sustain voltage under peak modem or display load — even though the fuel gauge still reads a comfortable percentage. The voltage collapses faster than the coulomb counter can report, so the phone shuts down before the reading reaches zero. It is most common when the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated to the new cell's discharge curve. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging and the reading will stabilise.
Phone warm near the battery bay on the first few charges
A freshly manufactured Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC works harder pushing current into a high-impedance cell, and that extra work becomes heat. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles and settles as the cell's impedance drops with use. If the device stays hot beyond the fifth cycle, check that the charge IC is not stuck in fast-charge mode with an uncalibrated fuel gauge — drop back to standard charge current for another full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My K-Touch T789 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out below 2.5V per cell to prevent damage, and a battery stored flat will drop into that range quickly. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing power. The charge IC needs to trickle enough current in to wake the BMS before the phone will respond. If the charging indicator appears and then the phone boots, the cell has recovered; if nothing appears after 45 minutes, the cell has over-discharged past recovery.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then suddenly 85%, then drops to 40%.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a new cell it has never seen before. The coulomb counter was tuned to the old cell's discharge curve, and the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship does not match. Run one uninterrupted full discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts itself off — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single full cycle the gauge IC locks onto the correct curve and the percentage stabilises.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement cell on my C980T.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's USB-PD or proprietary charge protocol handshake can fall back to standard 5V charging because the BMS on the new cell has not yet passed the charge controller's current-acceptance check. This is not a fault — it clears on its own. Complete one full charge at standard current, let the phone reach 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Fast charge should re-engage once the charge controller confirms the cell accepts higher current without the voltage rail sagging.
