Fits KDDI IS01 smartphone; replaces OEM part SA001UAA and KY003UAA battery pack.
Voltage 3.7V, capacity 650mAh delivers adequate charge for standard daily smartphone use.
Connector slides straight into the IS01 battery slot with locking tab engagement.
We ran full discharge cycles on the IS01 platform; BMS accepted input current without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging runs against an uncalibrated pack.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KDDI IS01 / SA001 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SA001UAA)

This is a 3.7V, 650mAh Li-ion cell for the KDDI IS01, SA001, SA002, and K007 Android smartphones released in Japan. It replaces part numbers SA001UAA and KY003UAA. The cell matches the original dimensions at 53.70 × 34.80 × 3.80mm and slots into the same battery bay.

  • IS01 / SA001 / SA002 / K007 platform fit: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all four without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran a charge-discharge cycle on the IS01 and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, reported voltage correctly, and held the charge IC in CC/CV mode through a full cycle without tripping a protection cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On the first charge after installation, disable any fast-charge mode if your charger supports it and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the IS01 after a cell swap

The IS01's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC does not immediately know where the real voltage cliff sits. Under screen or modem load, voltage can drop sharply at around 3.5–3.6V — below what the IC expected — and the BMS trips an undervoltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and moves the reported cutoff to match the new cell's actual curve.

IS01 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a hard lockout to prevent damage and will not respond to a normal charger. Connect the phone to a USB charger and leave it for 15–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a low rate until voltage climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V. Once the phone shows the charging indicator, proceed with a normal full charge cycle before first use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My IS01 just shuts off at around 25% — why does this happen with a new battery?

The fuel gauge IC on the IS01 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, worn cell. When voltage drops sharply under screen or modem load on the new cell, the IC misreads where the cutoff should be and the BMS trips early. Run one complete discharge-charge cycle without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's actual curve and the shutdowns stop.

The IS01's battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I fitted the replacement — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC stores discharge-curve data from the previous cell and takes one full cycle to overwrite it with data from the new cell. Until that recalibration is complete, the displayed percentage can skip or jump by several points. Discharge the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The percentage should stabilise and track smoothly from that point forward.

The IS01 gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first charge — is that normal?

A fresh high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat during the initial charge-in cycle than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes constant-current into a cell that has not yet settled its internal resistance, which produces more heat than usual. The warmth should reduce significantly after the first full cycle as internal resistance drops. If the phone remains hot to the touch after two full cycles, check that the charge IC is not stuck in fast-charge mode and verify the charger output does not exceed 5V/1A for this device.
