Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kodak EasyShare V530 / V603 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (KLIC-7002)

This is a 3.7V, 420mAh (1.55Wh) lithium-ion cell built to the KLIC-7002 specification. It fits the Kodak EasyShare V530, V530 Zoom, V603, and V603 Zoom compact digital cameras. The cell matches the original form factor at 37.30 × 27.40 × 6.55mm and seats directly in the battery bay.

  • V530 and V603 platform fit: Both camera bodies share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pin layout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one KLIC-7002 cell covers all four model variants listed above.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a V530 body. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge circuit terminated correctly at full voltage.
  • First-cycle charging on the V530: Insert the new cell and charge it fully through the camera body or an OEM-compatible charger before your first shoot. Some Kodak BMS firmware requires one complete in-body charge cycle before the battery-remaining indicator maps accurately to the new cell's discharge curve.

Why the V530 shows a dead-battery icon on a freshly installed replacement cell

The V530 uses a voltage-threshold system to estimate remaining charge. A new cell shipped in a partially discharged storage state can sit below the threshold the camera expects at startup, triggering the low-battery icon even though the cell is not empty. This is not a fault with the cell. Place the battery in the charger, run it to full, then re-insert — the icon clears and the indicator reads correctly from that point.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the V530 display

This happens when the camera's charge-state map — calibrated to an aged original cell — does not yet match the discharge curve of a new replacement. The indicator may leap from 80% to 20% mid-session or show full charge followed immediately by a low warning. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles through the camera body. After two cycles, the firmware recalibrates its threshold points against the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kodak V530 flashes the battery warning and shuts down even though I just put in a new KLIC-7002 — what's happening?

The V530 reads voltage at startup and compares it against a stored threshold. A new cell in storage state often sits low enough to trigger that cutoff before you've charged it. Pull the battery, charge it fully in the camera or a compatible charger, then reinsert — the camera should power on normally and hold charge through a full session.

The shot count on my V530 dropped significantly after switching to a replacement KLIC-7002 — is the cell defective?

Shot count is not determined by the cell alone. On the V530, each flash fire draws a sharp current spike to recharge the capacitor, and continuous autofocus adds a sustained load on top of that. Both pulls are higher than the camera's rated-shot-count test conditions assume. If flash is enabled on every frame, expect noticeably fewer shots per charge than the rated figure — disable flash where light allows and shot count will recover.

The flash on my V530 is taking much longer to recycle between shots near the end of a charge — is this a battery problem or a camera problem?

It is the battery. As cell voltage drops toward the low end of the discharge curve, the current available to recharge the flash capacitor decreases. The capacitor takes longer to reach full charge, so the flash-ready indicator delays. This is normal electrochemical behaviour, not a fault in the camera. Recharge the cell — recycle time returns to normal at full voltage.
