Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympus Evolt E-450 / E-410 / E-620 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BLS-1)
This is a 7.4V, 1150mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Olympus BLS-1 slot. It covers the Evolt E-400, E-410, E-450, and E-620 bodies, plus additional Olympus models sharing the same battery bay. Voltage and form factor match the OEM spec exactly.
- Evolt E-400 through E-620 compatibility: These four Evolt bodies share the same BLS-1 bay dimensions, 7.4V supply rail, and contact pin layout. The BMS in each body reads the same charge curve, so one cell covers the full group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Evolt E-450 body using the OEM charger. The BMS accepted the cell, battery-remaining display tracked consistently, and the autofocus and LCD draw held stable across charge and discharge cycles.
- First-use charge cycle on E-series bodies: Insert this cell and run one complete charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before heavy shooting. The E-series BMS calibrates the battery-remaining indicator against the cell's discharge curve during that first cycle — skipping it causes the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.
Dead battery indicator on the Evolt E-450 with a partially charged replacement cell
The E-450 maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds set during the first charge cycle. A new cell that hasn't completed that cycle presents a voltage profile the BMS doesn't recognise, so it defaults to a low or dead reading even when the cell carries a usable charge. This is a calibration gap, not a fault with the cell. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle and the indicator will track correctly afterward.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Evolt E-620 mid-shoot
The E-620 samples cell voltage at short intervals and maps the reading to a percentage table tuned to the OEM discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different mid-range discharge slope hits voltage points earlier or later than the table expects, causing the display to jump forward or back between shots. This is most visible between 40–70% on the indicator. It stabilises after two to three full charge cycles as the BMS updates its reference points. If it persists past three cycles, check that the charging voltage reaches 8.4V at the end of each charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Olympus Evolt E-450 shows "no battery" immediately after inserting this replacement — what's happening?
The E-450 runs an authentication check on insertion and can reject a new cell if it hasn't seen a charge signal from the OEM charger first. Remove the battery, place it in the OEM charger until the charge light confirms a full cycle, then reinsert it into the body. If the body still shows no battery, power-cycle the camera with the battery seated and the lens cap on. This clears the BMS flag without requiring a menu reset.
My shot count on the Evolt E-410 dropped sharply after switching to this battery — why?
Shot count specifications are based on minimal flash use, single-shot AF, and short LCD-on intervals. On the E-410, continuous autofocus, extended live-view playback, and flash recycling each pull additional current beyond that baseline, and a new cell not yet broken in runs slightly below rated capacity for the first few cycles. Expect count to improve noticeably after two to three full charge cycles. If shot count stays significantly low after that, check that the charger is delivering a full 8.4V termination voltage before removing the cell.
The flash on my Olympus Evolt E-620 isn't fully recycling between shots with this new battery — is the cell faulty?
Flash recycling draws a short, high-current pulse to recharge the capacitor, and a new cell in the first cycle or two has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, which slows that pulse. This is normal at the start of the cell's life and not a defect. Run two full charge-discharge cycles and retest — recycle time shortens as internal resistance drops. If the lag persists after three cycles, measure resting cell voltage after a full charge; it should read at or above 8.3V.
