Fits Leica Disto L360 laser distance meter; replaces OEM part 91505701.
2.4V Ni-MH cell at 4500mAh powers the rangefinder through full survey sessions without mid-measurement shutdown.
Connector slides into the battery compartment beneath the measurement window with a simple friction fit; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this pack against factory spec — BMS accepted charge without delay, voltage held steady under sustained laser firing cycles.
After installation, power on the Disto and run one full distance measurement to a known target before field deployment; the instrument recalibrates its battery reference point during this cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leica Disto L360 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (91505701)

This is a 2.4V, 4500mAh Ni-MH battery for the Leica Disto L360 handheld laser distance meter. It replaces OEM part 91505701 directly. The Disto L360 is used on construction sites and in surveying work where consistent power matters during measurement sessions.

  • Disto L360 pack fit: The L360 uses a fixed 2.4V Ni-MH cell configuration with a specific connector and BMS handshake tied to the instrument's power management circuit. Swapping chemistry or voltage — even slightly — will cause the device to reject the pack or report incorrect charge state.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the Disto L360's charge and discharge sequence. The BMS accepted the cell voltage on first contact, and the instrument reached full charge without triggering a fault code.
  • First-use calibration on the L360: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before taking it to site. The L360 maps battery state during calibration — skip this step and you will see premature low-battery warnings during your first measurement session, even with a fully charged pack.

BMS lockout after the Disto L360 sat unused in a carry case for months

Ni-MH cells self-discharge over time. If the L360 sits unused long enough, the pack voltage drops below the BMS recovery threshold and the instrument will not power on at all. This is not a dead battery — it is a protection state. To recover, connect the charger and leave it for a minimum of 24 hours without interruption. The BMS needs a low-current trickle input to climb back above the recovery voltage before it will accept a normal charge cycle.

Disto L360 shuts off mid-measurement with no low-battery warning

This happens when the laser and processor fire simultaneously, pulling a short current spike that the BMS reads as an overload. An aged or partially discharged cell cannot hold voltage under that combined draw. The BMS trips as a precaution and cuts power instantly — no warning, no gradual fade. Charge the pack to full, run the instrument calibration sequence, then retest. If the shutdown repeats at full charge, the cell capacity has degraded below the L360's minimum operating threshold and the pack needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Leica Disto L360 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in the charger overnight — what's wrong?

The pack was likely below the BMS recovery voltage when you connected it, and a single overnight charge may not be enough to pull it back. Ni-MH cells that arrive partially discharged from storage need a sustained low-current trickle before the BMS unlocks a full charge cycle. Leave the pack on the charger uninterrupted for a full 24 hours, then try powering the L360 again. If the instrument still won't respond, check that the charger output is sitting at or above 2.4V at the terminals.

The Disto L360 cuts out the moment I take a measurement, but the battery indicator showed full charge — why?

The laser module and processor draw current simultaneously when a measurement fires, and that spike is brief but sharp. If the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the BMS trips and shuts the instrument down before any low-battery warning appears. This is a cell-health issue, not a charge-level issue — the indicator reflects resting voltage, not the pack's ability to hold voltage under load. Run the calibration cycle through the instrument menu after a full charge, then retest; if the cutout repeats, the pack's capacity under load has fallen below what the L360 requires.

The L360 display shows a different battery percentage every time I restart the instrument — is the battery faulty?

This is normal behaviour when the instrument's battery state mapping hasn't been set for the new pack. The L360 recalibrates its voltage-threshold indicator over the first few charge and discharge cycles, so the percentage readout will be inconsistent until that process completes. Run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu, then do at least two complete charge-to-use cycles before trusting the displayed percentage. After that, the reading should stabilise and track accurately across sessions.
