Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro Series — 15.36V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L20C4PE1)
This is a 15.36V, 4750mAh (72.96Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro lineup, including the 16IHU6, 16ACH6, and IdeaPad Creator 5-16ACH6 variants. It replaces OEM part numbers L20C4PE1, L20L4PE1, and L20M4PE1. Physical dimensions are 322.26 × 119.50 × 6.30mm — measure your original before ordering if you are unsure of your exact sub-model.
- IdeaPad 5 Pro 16-inch platform fit: The 16IHU6 (Intel) and 16ACH6 (AMD) share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why all three OEM part variants are interchangeable across those boards.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an IdeaPad 5 Pro-16ACH6 board. The BMS negotiated charge current correctly on first insertion, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff without requiring a manual reset.
- Post-install calibration on IdeaPad 5 Pro: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to complete against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell
The IdeaPad 5 Pro stores battery wear data in EEPROM on the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads that stored data and flags a mismatch — it has no baseline yet for the new chemistry. This is a firmware state, not a cell fault. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the learn cycle. After two or three full cycles, the health indicator normalises and the warning clears.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% shown on the gauge after battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new Li-Polymer cell hits a voltage cliff around 3.0V per cell under combined CPU and display load, and the board cuts power before the gauge catches up. The percentage reading is wrong, not the battery. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles and let the gauge IC re-map the new cell's curve. After that, shutdowns should align with what the gauge actually shows — expect the cutoff to stabilise near 5–8% rather than 20–30%.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IdeaPad 5 Pro shows 0% or "unknown battery" right after I put the new battery in — is it dead?
The BIOS lost its EEPROM reference when the old cell was removed, so it has no data to read on first boot. Power on with the charger connected and let it sit at 100% for five minutes, then unplug and run a full discharge to hibernate. That sequence gives the firmware enough data to register the new cell correctly and the 0% reading clears.
Lenovo Vantage is showing the wrong Wh rating — it says 80Wh but the battery is rated 72.96Wh. Which is correct?
Vantage reads the Wh value stored in the old cell's EEPROM, which stays cached in the BIOS after a swap. The physical cell is 72.96Wh — that is the correct figure. After the BIOS completes a full battery learn cycle (one discharge to hibernate, one charge to 100%), it overwrites the cached value and Vantage updates to reflect the actual cell rating.
The new battery won't charge past 80% on the IdeaPad 5 Pro — what is stopping it?
Lenovo's BIOS includes a firmware-controlled charge limit that caps charging at 80% when "Battery Conservation Mode" is active in Lenovo Vantage or the BIOS power settings. The battery itself is not at fault. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power → Battery Settings, and switch the charge mode from "Conservation" to "Normal" — the cell will then charge to 100%.
