Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo ThinkPad L560 / L570 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SB10H45073)
This 10.8V, 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo ThinkPad L560 and L570. It fits models across both series, including the L560-7CD and ThinkPad L560(20F10022GE), and matches the OEM connector, form factor, and BMS communication protocol. Compatible OEM part numbers include SB10H45073, SB10H45074, SB10H45071, 00NY488, 00NY489, and 00NY486.
- L560 and L570 fitment: Both series run the same 10.8V battery rail, use the same physical connector, and expect the same BMS handshake from the EEPROM. A single cell covers both platforms without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an L560 and monitored BMS communication through full charge and discharge cycles. The BIOS recognised the battery as a valid Lenovo cell, charge current behaved correctly, and no BMS fault codes were logged.
- First-cycle reset on ThinkPad firmware: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the ThinkPad battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after swapping cells on the L560
The ThinkPad BIOS reads health data from the EEPROM embedded in the battery pack. When a new cell is installed, the EEPROM contains factory defaults that do not yet match the BIOS's learned charge history from the old pack. The firmware flags this mismatch as degraded health. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% allows the battery learn cycle to write new baseline data and clear the warning.
L560 shuts down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge still uses discharge curve data from the old, degraded cell, so its percentage readout drifts early. The cell hits a voltage floor the hardware cannot sustain under combined CPU and display load before the gauge reaches zero. Two to three full discharge-and-recharge cycles recalibrate the IC — after that, shutdown should align with a displayed charge of 5% or below, with the cell resting above 10.0V at cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ThinkPad L560 shows the replacement battery as "unknown" or 0% in Windows immediately after fitting — what causes that?
The fuel gauge IC on the new cell has not yet synced its EEPROM data with the ThinkPad's battery management firmware. Windows reads the gauge output, so if the IC hasn't initialised, it reports 0% or unknown. Plug in AC power and let the battery charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption, then run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff. After one complete cycle, the gauge IC initialises correctly and Windows displays an accurate state of charge.
The system info screen shows a lower Wh rating than the 47.52Wh listed for this battery — is the cell underspec?
No. The Wh figure shown in system information is read directly from the EEPROM on the battery pack, not measured in real time. The EEPROM is written at the factory using the rated nominal values for the cell chemistry, and slight differences in how voltage is averaged across the discharge curve can produce a number that reads a few Wh lower than the label. We confirmed actual capacity on the bench aligns with the 4400mAh / 47.52Wh spec — the discrepancy is a reporting artefact, not a capacity shortfall.
Charging stops at 80% and won't go higher — is this a fault with the replacement cell?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge threshold, not a battery fault. Lenovo ThinkPad firmware includes a charge limit setting in the Power Manager or UEFI settings that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Check the Lenovo Vantage app or the BIOS under Config → Power → Battery Charge Threshold and set the stop-charge value to 100%.
