Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujitsu LifeBook A544 / E733 / AH564 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BPS229 / FPCBP405)
This is a 10.8V, 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion battery for the Fujitsu LifeBook A544, AH564, E733, E734, and over 67 related models. It replaces OEM part numbers including BPS229, FMVNBP229A, FPCBP405, FPCBP416, FPCBP426, and FPCBP434, among others. If your original battery no longer holds a charge or your laptop stops running off AC, this is the direct cell swap.
- LifeBook A544 / E733 / AH564 platform fit: These models share the same 10.8V battery rail, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol across the A-series and E-series chassis. One cell covers the full group because Fujitsu standardised the battery interface across this notebook generation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a LifeBook A544 unit. The BMS negotiated correctly, the BIOS recognised the pack, and the fuel gauge updated without manual intervention after two full cycles.
- Post-swap calibration tip for LifeBook A544: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The LifeBook BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM and compares it against historical cycle data from the old pack. A brand-new cell has no cycle history, so the BIOS flags it as degraded or unknown on first boot. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the learn cycle will write fresh baseline data. After two cycles, the health reading normalises.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The OS thinks 20% remaining equals a safe voltage floor, but the mapped curve is wrong — the cell hits real minimum voltage sooner than expected under CPU and display load. The fix is a full calibration cycle: discharge to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two to three cycles the fuel gauge IC locks onto the correct voltage-to-capacity curve and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My LifeBook A544 shows "0% available (plugged in, charging)" right after fitting the new battery — is the cell dead?
No. The fuel gauge IC on this platform lost its reference data when the old cell was removed, and it needs to relearn the new cell's voltage curve. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The gauge resets itself during that cycle. After two full cycles the percentage reads correctly.
Windows Battery Report shows the new cell's design capacity as much lower than the 47.52Wh on the label — why?
The Battery Report pulls the Wh figure from EEPROM data embedded in the pack's BMS chip, and that value reflects the rated chemistry spec at the time of manufacture, not necessarily the label figure. Small discrepancies between reported and printed Wh are normal across Li-ion cells and don't affect how the battery performs. Run the laptop through a full calibration cycle and re-run the report — the figure will align closer to spec once the BMS has a real discharge baseline to report against. If it still reads far below 47Wh after three cycles, contact the seller with the Battery Report file.
The LifeBook A544 won't charge above 80% with the replacement battery installed — is the charge limiter on?
Fujitsu's BIOS on certain LifeBook models includes a battery charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Check BIOS setup (F2 at boot) under the Power or Battery menu and look for a "Battery Charging Mode" or "Eco Charge" option. Switch it to "Full Charge" or equivalent and save. If no such setting appears, update the BIOS to the latest version from Fujitsu's support site first, then recheck.
