Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo V17-IIL / IdeaPad 3-17IML05 — 11.25V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L19C3PF6)
This is an 11.25V 3700mAh (41.63Wh) lithium-polymer cell built to replace the L19C3PF6 battery in the Lenovo V17-IIL (82GX) and IdeaPad 3-17IML05 series. It also covers the IdeaPad 3-17IML0 81WCCTO1WW. The connector, BMS pinout, and cell voltage match the original Lenovo specification exactly.
- V17-IIL and IdeaPad 3-17IML05 platform fit: These models share the same 11.25V three-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical 5-pin BMS connector, and the same OEM part reference (L19C3PF6 / SB10W89845 / 5B10W89838). The BMS handshake and charge termination logic is common across the whole series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a V17-IIL unit. The BMS reported correct voltage at each stage, charge termination triggered cleanly at 12.6V, and the protection circuit tripped at expected low-voltage threshold without false cutoff.
- BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap. Skip this step and Windows Battery Report will show misleading wear data for weeks.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% shown on the V17-IIL
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. When the CPU boosts and the display draws full backlight simultaneously, cell voltage sags sharply under combined load. The BMS reads a momentary low-voltage condition and cuts output before the OS fuel gauge catches up. It is common on degraded cells but also appears on new cells that have not yet completed a BIOS learn cycle. Run a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this gives the fuel gauge IC accurate data to map the cell's actual discharge curve.
New cell not charging above 80% on the IdeaPad 3-17IML05
Lenovo's BIOS includes a Conservation Mode that caps charge at 60%, and a charge threshold feature that caps it at 80%. Both are controlled in firmware, not by the battery cell itself. Check Lenovo Vantage under Power → Battery Settings and confirm Conservation Mode and the charge threshold are both off. Once disabled, charge should reach full termination voltage at 12.6V. This is a BIOS setting issue — the replacement cell is not at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows is showing my new Lenovo battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" right after installation — what's wrong?
This is usually the EEPROM data from the old cell confusing the fuel gauge IC on first contact with a new cell. The OS reads stale state-of-charge data before the fuel gauge has calibrated. Unplug the AC adapter, let the laptop run on battery until it hibernates, then plug in and charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one full cycle the fuel gauge IC resets against the new cell and the charge percentage reads correctly.
BIOS is reporting my replacement L19C3PF6 battery as "poor health" even though it arrived brand new — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. The BIOS pulls health data from the battery's EEPROM, which stores cycle count and wear records from the previous cell. A new cell presents fresh EEPROM values that don't match what BIOS cached, so it flags the mismatch as poor health. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% — this forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to rewrite its reference data against the new cell. The health warning clears after one or two cycles.
System info is showing the wrong Wh rating for my V17-IIL after swapping the battery — it says something different from the 41.63Wh spec — should I be concerned?
The Wh figure displayed in system info comes from the EEPROM embedded in the battery's BMS circuit, not from a live measurement. There can be a small discrepancy between the EEPROM-stored rated value and the actual chemistry capacity of a replacement cell. This does not affect charge, discharge, or BMS protection behaviour. Confirm the cell voltage reads between 11.1V and 12.6V during normal operation — if it does, the cell is performing correctly regardless of what the Wh readout shows.
