Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro13 2020 / IdeaPad S540 — 11.25V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L19D3PD3)
This is an 11.25V, 4850mAh (54.56Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro13 2020. It also fits the IdeaPad S540 13ARE, S540-13, and IdeaPad S540 13IML. OEM part numbers L19D3PD3 and L19M3PD3 confirm fitment across this slim ultrabook family.
- Xiaoxin Pro13 / IdeaPad S540 fit group: These models share the same 11.25V three-cell architecture, identical battery connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol on the SMBus line — so one replacement cell covers all variants listed above without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the IdeaPad S540 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly on the first cycle, charge termination triggered at the expected voltage ceiling, and the SMBus reported capacity data back to the OS without error flags.
- BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this cell, discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without powering on mid-cycle. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false "battery health poor" warning that appears after any cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor health immediately after fitting a new cell
The Lenovo BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers on the battery's fuel gauge IC. When a new cell arrives, those registers still hold factory default values — not learned data from real charge cycles on your unit. The BIOS interprets unfamiliar EEPROM values as a degraded battery and flags poor health on day one. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the fuel gauge IC write accurate learned data, which the BIOS then accepts as a healthy cell.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% remaining after battery swap
This happens because the OS fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff — where cell voltage drops sharply under combined CPU and display load — at a state-of-charge percentage the IC hasn't yet mapped correctly. The system reads enough charge to continue but the actual cell voltage falls below the protection threshold and triggers an emergency shutdown. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles without the adapter plugged in during use; by the second cycle the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell's actual curve and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows showing this battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" right after install — is the cell dead?
No — this is a fuel gauge IC initialisation issue. The IC on a new cell has no learned data yet, so the OS reports 0% or "unknown" until the first charge cycle completes. Plug the adapter in, leave the laptop closed, and let it charge uninterrupted to 100%. The gauge will populate correct data and the status will clear on its own.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating — 45Wh instead of 54.56Wh — after fitting this cell. Why?
The Wh figure shown in Lenovo Vantage or Windows device manager is read from the battery's EEPROM rated value, not measured in real time. Factory EEPROM on replacement cells can carry a different rated Wh entry than the actual chemistry warrants. Run a full discharge cycle and the fuel gauge IC will overwrite the EEPROM with a measured value — after one complete cycle, the reported Wh will align with the actual 54.56Wh capacity of this cell.
Charge stops at exactly 80% and won't go higher — new cell, same problem on two different chargers.
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell or the charger. Lenovo's firmware includes a battery conservation mode that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during extended desk use. Check Lenovo Vantage under Power → Battery Settings and confirm Conservation Mode is toggled off. Once disabled, plug in and the charge ceiling lifts back to 100%.
