Fits LG KU800 and replaces OEM part number LGLP-GBAM.
3.7V at 850mAh means this cell restores talk and standby time lost on a degraded original pack.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab — seat it flush to ensure clean contact with the spring terminals.
We ran a full discharge-charge cycle on the test unit; the BMS reported correct voltage ramp and accepted charge without cutoff or thermal drift.
On first power-on after installation, let the phone complete one full discharge and recharge without interruption — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve before the OS reports accurate percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG KU800 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGLP-GBAM)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 850mAh (3.15Wh), built to the same spec as the original LGLP-GBAM. It fits the LG KU800 directly, with no modification to the battery compartment or contacts. When the original cell degrades and can no longer sustain voltage under screen or call load, this is the direct swap.

  • KU800 compatibility: The KU800 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal with a specific contact pitch and BMS communication line. This replacement matches that electrical footprint — voltage, connector orientation, and protection circuit output all align with what the phone's charge IC expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge while monitoring BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit triggered correctly at both low-voltage and over-current limits, and the charge IC accepted the cell without error flags.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The KU800's fuel gauge IC calibrates against the cell's discharge curve on that first full cycle — skipping it causes the percentage readout to drift off from the actual state of charge.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the KU800 after a cell swap

The KU800's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original, worn cell. A fresh 850mAh cell has a steeper voltage cliff at the low end compared to a degraded one. When the phone reports 20–30% remaining, the new cell's actual resting voltage may already be approaching the BMS cutoff threshold. Under modem or backlight load, voltage sags past that threshold and the BMS trips instantly. One full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by an uninterrupted full charge resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's curve.

KU800 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or was stored for an extended period, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — the threshold at which most BMS circuits lock out to prevent deep-discharge damage. The phone will appear completely dead and will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for at least 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on; the charge IC needs to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, before the circuit closes and the phone can boot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my LG KU800 showing a different battery percentage than what I'd expect — jumping around or reading full when it's clearly not?

The fuel gauge IC on the KU800 stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. After fitting a new LGLP-GBAM, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity profile, so the percentage readout drifts or jumps. Run one complete cycle — discharge the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge it to 100% without interruption. That single cycle lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell.

My KU800 feels noticeably warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is something wrong?

A fresh Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. In the first few charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into a cell that hasn't yet settled to its operating impedance, which generates slightly more heat than usual. Mild warmth at the battery cover is normal for the first two to three charges. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shuts down mid-charge, remove the battery and check that the contacts are seated flat against the terminals with no debris underneath.

The KU800 powers on fine but cuts out completely when I make a call — the battery still shows charge left.

Voice calls on the KU800 spike current draw as the GSM radio ramps up to transmit. If the cell voltage sags under that load and drops past the BMS cutoff — even briefly — the phone shuts down regardless of the percentage shown on screen. This is a voltage-sag issue, not a capacity issue, and it most often appears before the fuel gauge IC has completed its first full recalibration cycle. Complete one full discharge-to-shutdown charge cycle and check that the battery contacts are clean and making firm contact; a poor connection adds resistance that worsens sag to around 3.0V at the terminals.
