3.7V 800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the original capacity—restores full talk and standby time on the VX8350 modem and display load.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation is keyed and does not reverse-fit.
We charged this cell in an LG dock charger and monitored the BMS response through three full cycles—no early cutoff, stable voltage regulation under load.
After installation, run one complete discharge and recharge cycle without removing the battery to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate to the new cell curve before regular use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG VX8350 / VX5200 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LGIP-520B)

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the LG VX8350 and related mid-2000s CDMA handsets. It also fits the VX5200, VX5400, and VX5500, all of which share the same LGIP-520B battery footprint and connector. Capacity is 2.96Wh — matching the original specification.

  • VX8350 / VX5x00 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and connector pinout — the LGIP-520B fits all of them without modification to contacts or housing.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full discharge on the VX8350, confirming the BMS accepted charge handshake correctly and voltage held stable under call and backlight load without triggering premature cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, run one complete discharge to auto-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge before relying on the percentage indicator — the phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve and needs one full cycle to map against the new one.

Why the VX8350 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The VX8350 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring current in and out of the original cell over time. When you swap in a new cell, the IC still references the discharge curve it mapped to the old, degraded battery. The mismatch causes the displayed percentage to lag behind or jump — it's a calibration issue, not a fault in the replacement cell. One full discharge-to-shutoff and uninterrupted recharge cycle resets the IC's reference curve to the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VX8350

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — specifically during a call or screen-on state — faster than the fuel gauge predicted. The phone's protection circuit reads the voltage cliff as a low-cell event and cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is most common on the first few cycles before the fuel gauge IC has recalibrated. After two full discharge-charge cycles, the shutoff threshold stabilises; if it persists beyond that, check the battery contacts for debris and confirm resting voltage reads at least 3.6V with a multimeter.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VX8350 battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I put in the new cell — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the old battery's discharge curve, and the new cell's curve doesn't match what the IC expects. Run the phone down to auto-shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without pulling it off the charger early. That single full cycle gives the IC enough data to remap to the new cell, and the percentage display stabilises.

My VX8350 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a while before I installed it — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS entered a lockout state to prevent damage. Plug the phone into the charger and leave it connected for at least 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a low rate until voltage climbs back above the BMS recovery threshold — usually around 3.0V — at which point the phone will boot normally.

The VX8350 feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected on the first few charge cycles. A new cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, which means the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat while pushing current into it. The temperature should drop noticeably after two or three full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, remove it from the charger and let it cool — then check that the battery contacts are fully seated and free of corrosion before continuing.
