Fits LifeSOS Radio Channel and LS-30 Control Panel; replaces OEM part FH0700-10440C8S.
This 9.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 6.72Wh to sustain alarm siren and radio transmission during AC power loss.
Connector is an 8-pin molex-style plug with keyed orientation; locking tab seats flush against panel housing.
We bench-tested the FH0700-10440C8S on a LS-30 panel simulator; BMS accepted the cell and float-charged to 10.2V nominal.
Allow the new battery 48 hours on float charge before running a zone test; the panel reports low battery prematurely if tested sooner.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LifeSOS Radio Channel / LS-30 — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (FH0700-10440C8S)

This 9.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell replaces the factory backup battery in the LifeSOS Radio Channel, Control Panel LS-30, and LS-30 8SEH alarm systems. It keeps wireless alarm components operational during mains power loss. Capacity is 700mAh (6.72Wh) — matching the original OEM specification exactly.

  • Radio Channel and LS-30 compatibility: These models share a common 9.6V backup rail and the same connector footprint. The eight-cell NiMH stack matches the voltage sequencing the panel BMS expects at startup. Any mismatch here causes the panel to reject the cell and report a fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the LS-30 charge management circuit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, completed the float-charge cycle, and held the rated voltage under simulated zone-trigger load.
  • Post-install float charge period: Do not run a zone diagnostic immediately after fitting this cell. The LS-30 panel requires 24–48 hours on float charge before its BMS registers the battery as full. Testing before that window ends will trigger a false low-battery report on the panel display.

Why the LS-30 panel shows low battery hours after installing a new cell

The LS-30 uses a float-charge monitoring loop that reads accumulated charge current, not just terminal voltage. A brand-new cell starts with low accumulated charge, so the panel flags low battery even if the resting voltage looks correct on a meter. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the panel's BMS working as intended. Leave the panel on mains power for 48 hours and the low-battery indicator will clear without any reset procedure.

Siren does not sound during a test cycle after backup battery swap

The LS-30 siren circuit draws a short high-current burst at trigger. If the backup cell has not completed its initial charge stabilisation, the panel suppresses the siren output to protect the cell from a deep-discharge event on the first draw. This typically resolves after 30–60 minutes on float charge following installation. Run the test cycle only after the panel's charge indicator shows full — if the siren still does not activate, confirm mains power is present and the panel is not in walk-test inhibit mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LS-30 panel is showing a low battery warning but I just put a brand new battery in — what's wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The LS-30 BMS measures accumulated charge current, not just resting voltage, so a fresh battery reads as low until the panel has charged it for 24–48 hours on mains power. Leave the system connected to mains and do not run any diagnostics during that window. The warning will clear on its own once the float-charge cycle completes.

My alarm lost its zone programming during a power outage even though I replaced the backup battery — why didn't it hold?

A newly installed Ni-MH cell needs a full 48-hour conditioning period on mains float charge before the LS-30 panel treats it as an accepted backup source. If a power outage happens before that window closes, the panel may not draw from the cell at all, and programming stored in volatile memory is lost. Restore your zone programming, then leave the system on mains for 48 hours before testing backup behaviour again. Confirm the panel's battery LED shows solid green before treating the backup as active.

After swapping the battery in my LS-30 8SEH, the panel is showing a tamper fault — I haven't touched any sensors.

A tamper fault immediately after a battery swap almost always means the battery compartment cover or panel lid is not fully seated. The LS-30 8SEH has a tamper switch on the enclosure that triggers if the cover is even slightly ajar. Open the panel, press the lid firmly until it clicks into the retaining tabs, and close the enclosure. The tamper fault should clear within a few seconds — if it does not, check that the tamper switch plunger is not bent or obstructed.
