Fits Lithonia ENB06006 emergency lighting units; replaces OEM part number NIC0099.
6V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 12Wh to sustain backup illumination during mains power loss.
Connector slides onto fixed contact pins inside the ENB06006 housing; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested the cell on Lithonia charge controller hardware — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and held float voltage without drift.
Run a full manual test cycle within 24 hours of installation by holding the test button for the rated duration; this confirms the new cell registers at full capacity with the charge controller before your next compliance audit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lithonia ENB06006 — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (NIC0099)

This is a 6V 2000mAh (12Wh) Ni-MH replacement battery for Lithonia emergency lighting units using part number ENB06006. It fits the backup power compartment in emergency exit signs and emergency lighting fixtures that rely on this cell to activate during a mains failure. Capacity figures are taken directly from product data, not estimated.

  • ENB06006 fixture compatibility: Lithonia fixtures using ENB06006 run a 6V Ni-MH cell because the charge controller floats at a voltage rail matched to nickel-metal hydride chemistry. Swapping to a different chemistry — Li-ion or Ni-Cd — trips the charge circuit and prevents proper float maintenance.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle and simulated a mains-loss event. The BMS accepted the load without cutoff, and the fixture lamp activated at the expected output level without hesitation.
  • First-cycle conditioning on installation: After fitting, hold the manual test button for the full rated duration within 24 hours. This confirms the cell accepts load and lets the charge controller register the new cell's capacity before any scheduled compliance test.

Charge indicator staying red after fitting a new ENB06006 cell

A new cell shipped from storage often sits below the float acceptance window the charge controller expects to see. When the controller reads a resting voltage outside that window, it holds the charge LED red and does not transition to green. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the controller waiting for the cell voltage to climb into the float range. Leave the fixture on mains power for a full 24-hour charge cycle. If the LED has not turned green after 24 hours, check that the connector is fully seated and that cell voltage at the terminals reads at least 6.0V.

Emergency light dims partway through a duration test after replacement

A cell that has not completed its first full conditioning cycle will deliver less usable capacity than rated. During a duration test, the lamp starts at normal brightness and then dims or cuts out before the rated period ends. The cell is not defective — it has not yet reached its full charge state from storage. Allow the fixture to remain on continuous mains charge for 24 hours, then run the test again. Full rated capacity typically stabilises after one or two complete charge-and-discharge cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lithonia emergency light passed the indicator test but failed the duration test right after I put in a new ENB06006 — what happened?

A freshly installed Ni-MH cell ships partially discharged from storage and will not deliver its full 2000mAh capacity on the first activation. The fixture lamp activates correctly but the cell runs flat before the rated duration ends. Put the fitting back on mains power for a full 24-hour charge cycle, then retest. One complete charge-and-discharge cycle is usually enough for the cell to reach its rated capacity.

The fault LED on my Lithonia fitting is still showing after I've confirmed the new NIC0099 cell is seated correctly — do I have a wiring problem?

On several Lithonia fixture models, the fault LED does not self-clear after a new cell is installed — it requires a manual reset. With the fitting on mains power, hold the test button for three seconds, release, and wait for the indicator to cycle. If the LED clears, the charge controller has accepted the new cell. If it stays lit, check that cell voltage at the terminals reads at least 6.0V before assuming a wiring fault.

The replacement ENB06006 battery looks swollen after a year inside the fitting — is this a cell defect?

Swelling in a Ni-MH cell inside an emergency light fitting is nearly always caused by continuous trickle overcharge combined with elevated ambient temperature inside the enclosure. The fitting's charge circuit is calibrated for a cell in good condition — an aged or heat-stressed cell cannot absorb the trickle current correctly, and pressure builds inside the cell casing. Replace the swollen cell immediately and do not reuse it. Check that the fixture is not mounted directly above a heat source, and verify the enclosure vents are clear so the internal temperature stays within the 0–35°C operating range.
