Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

M3 Mobile BK10 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BK10-BATT-S34)
This is a 3.7V, 3600mAh Li-Polymer battery built to replace the OEM pack in the M3 Mobile BK10 handheld barcode scanner. The BK10 is used in retail, warehouse, and logistics environments where scanners run through full shifts without returning to a desk. Swapping this pack restores full operating capacity when the original cell has degraded.
- BK10 platform fit: The BK10 uses a single-cell Li-Polymer architecture at 3.7V nominal with a proprietary form factor measuring 73.20 × 59.50 × 15.50mm. This replacement matches that footprint and voltage rail so the onboard BMS reads the pack correctly without throwing a fault code on insertion.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated scan-burst loads — repeated trigger pulls combined with active wireless polling — and confirmed the BMS held voltage without tripping on the combined inrush. Capacity measured consistently at rated output across multiple discharge cycles.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS cutoff events during the highest-demand part of the first shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new BK10 pack
Charging errors on a new pack are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a fault with the cell itself. The BK10 cradle reads pack state through the charge contacts, and even a small film of contamination raises resistance enough to trigger an error flag. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack firmly until it clicks. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, contact resistance was the cause — not the cell.
Scanner drops wireless connection during rapid barcode scan bursts
The BK10 pulls current from two sources simultaneously during a rapid scan burst — the imager or laser module and the wireless radio maintaining its network link. When the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio subsystem can lose enough power to drop its connection before the BMS trips the battery entirely. This is more pronounced in a partially depleted pack. Keep the battery above 20% charge during high-throughput scanning sessions and confirm the cell reads at least 3.5V under load before starting a long picking run.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BK10 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — is the scanner broken?
The imager or laser module needs a minimum supply voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack straight out of packaging may not be at full charge. Seat the scanner in the cradle and charge it completely before scanning. Once the cell is at full voltage, the imager draw is within spec and reads should return to normal. If barcodes still fail to read after a full charge, check that the scanner window is clean and undamaged.
My BK10 feels noticeably warm after a long warehouse shift — is that a battery problem?
Sustained warmth during extended shifts is a normal result of the combined thermal load from continuous scanning and active wireless — both drawing from a single Li-Polymer cell inside an enclosed plastic housing. That said, if the unit feels hot rather than warm, or shuts down from heat, the battery may be working harder than it should because the cell capacity has already degraded. Check that the replacement pack contacts are clean and seated fully, as poor contact forces higher current draw through a smaller surface area and increases heat. A properly seated, fully charged 3600mAh pack should keep surface temperature in the warm-but-comfortable range through a normal shift.
The BK10 seems to run through the battery much faster than the old one did — what is going wrong?
A new Li-Polymer cell sometimes takes two or three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches its rated capacity. If the pack is brand new, run it through complete cycles — full charge in the cradle, then normal scanning use until the low-battery warning — before judging its endurance. Also check your wireless polling interval in the device settings; aggressive polling combined with high scan frequency is the largest combined draw on the BK10 and will shorten shift endurance on any pack. If capacity still seems short after three full cycles, verify the cradle is delivering a clean charge by confirming the battery reaches 4.2V at the end of each charge session.
