Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Midea P3 / P5S / P5 Pro / P81 — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP21625A)

This is a 21.6V, 2000mAh (43.2Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for Midea cordless stick and handheld vacuums. It fits the P3, P5S, P5 Pro, and P81 models, along with two additional variants in the same platform family. OEM part numbers covered are BP21625A and MB2420A.

  • P3 / P5 platform compatibility: These models share the same 21.6V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all listed models because the power management hardware is common across the platform — Midea carried the same battery architecture through the P3 through P81 range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery under simulated motor load on the P3 platform. The BMS engaged overcurrent protection correctly during sustained high-draw pulls, and cell voltage held within expected range across the discharge curve.
  • Dock charging habit on stick vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge from the dock degrades lithium-ion cells faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles. Charge to full, then pull it off the dock.

Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor is working harder than rated — usually because airflow is restricted by a blocked filter or partial clog. The motor draws more current under restriction, which causes voltage to sag at the cell level before the battery is genuinely depleted. The indicator reads the pack voltage, not the motor load, so it lags behind what the motor is actually experiencing. Check and clean the filter first — a clean filter is the fastest fix for premature suction drop.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction forces the motor to pull above the BMS current threshold, the pack shuts off to protect the cells. The BMS resets after a brief cooldown — typically once current demand drops and internal temperature stabilises. Clear any blockage in the nozzle, hose, or filter before resuming. If cut-outs persist with a clean filter and clear airflow, check that cell voltage at rest is above 19V — below that, the pack may be too depleted to handle motor-start surge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Midea P3 has noticeably less suction than it used to, but the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's going on?

The battery indicator tracks pack voltage, not available capacity after cell degradation. As lithium-ion cells age, they lose the ability to hold voltage under load even when they read "full" at rest. The motor gets less sustained power, so suction drops before the indicator reflects it. Replace the battery and the suction level should return to what it was when the vacuum was new.

My Midea P5S cuts out during use and comes back on after I set it down for a minute — is that the battery failing or something else?

That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent, not necessarily a failing battery. It happens most often when the filter is restricted — the motor draws more current trying to compensate, the BMS hits its protection threshold and shuts the pack down, then resets once current demand drops. Clean the filter and check for blockages in the hose and nozzle first. If cut-outs continue on a clean machine with a new battery, measure resting cell voltage — it should be above 19V before starting a cleaning session.

My Midea cordless vacuum's battery barely lasts compared to when it was new, even after a full charge — could the dock be responsible?

Yes, continuous dock charging is a known cause of accelerated capacity fade in stick vacuums. The charging dock keeps the cells at or near full charge continuously, and sustained high state-of-charge stresses lithium-ion cells over time, compressing the usable capacity window. Once a replacement battery is fitted, charge it to full and remove it from the dock rather than leaving it seated between uses. That one habit change slows capacity fade significantly over the battery's life.
