Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion MIM2070 / MIM2240 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-Dragon)
This 11.1V, 6600mAh (73.26Wh) Li-ion cell replaces the BP-Dragon pack in Medion laptops including the MIM2070, MIM2240, MIM2270, and MD96144. It fits the full range of Medion notebook models that share this connector and BMS profile. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the laptop only runs while plugged in.
- MIM2070 / MIM2240 / MD96144 platform fit: These models share an identical 11.1V three-cell rail, the same physical connector, and the same BMS communication protocol. One cell covers the entire group — no adapter or wiring change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Medion notebook chassis. The BMS handshake completed without fault codes, charge current ramped normally from CC to CV, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- First-cycle calibration on Medion notebooks: After fitting a new cell, run the laptop down until it hibernates automatically — do not force shutdown. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false "poor health" flag that appears after every cell swap on Medion firmware.
Why the BIOS flags poor battery health after a fresh cell install
Medion laptops store battery health data in EEPROM on the original pack. When you fit a new cell, the BIOS reads no matching history and defaults to a poor-health warning. This is a firmware behaviour, not a fault with the replacement. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the BIOS write a new baseline. After one or two cycles the health indicator updates to reflect the actual cell state.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The percentage reading is inaccurate — the new cell is hitting a voltage point the gauge interprets as nearly empty. Under combined CPU and display load, voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated gauge expects, triggering a protective shutdown. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles. By the second cycle the gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's actual voltage curve and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Medion laptop shows 0% or "plugged in, not charging" straight after fitting the new battery — what's wrong?
The BMS on these Medion packs requires the charger to see the cell voltage above a minimum threshold before it opens the charge FET. If the replacement cell shipped at low state of charge, the BIOS may read 0% and stall the charge circuit. Disconnect the AC adapter, leave it disconnected for 60 seconds, then reconnect — this forces the charge controller to re-poll the pack. If it still stalls, check that the battery connector is fully seated; a half-engaged connector on the MIM2070 chassis is a known cause of this symptom.
Windows reports the new cell's Wh rating as lower than the 73.26Wh printed on the pack — is the cell underspecced?
The Wh value Windows displays is read from the EEPROM on the old pack's data line, not measured from the new cell. Until the BIOS overwrites that register after a learn cycle, the OS shows the rated value stored by the previous battery. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff and charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the BIOS rewrites the EEPROM register and Windows will reflect the correct 73.26Wh figure.
The fuel gauge on the Medion MIM2240 jumps erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes of use.
The fuel gauge IC learns a cell's impedance curve over the first few charge cycles. A brand-new cell has a different internal resistance profile than the worn cell the IC was calibrated against, so the percentage estimate oscillates until the IC builds a new model. This is normal for the first two to three full cycles on Medion firmware. Complete two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles and the gauge will stabilise to within a few percent of the actual state of charge.
