Fits MeiZu M1 and Note smartphones; replaces OEM part number BT42.
3.8V, 3100mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full talk and standby time on the M1 platform.
Connector seats into the battery slot with flat contact pins; locking tab secures against the chassis frame.
We bench-tested this cell in an M1 unit; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no fault codes or voltage rail sag during boot.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu M1 / Note — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BT42)

This is a 3.8V, 3100mAh lithium-polymer replacement cell for the MeiZu M1 and M1 Note smartphones. It swaps the original BT42 battery when the existing cell has degraded to the point of unreliable use. Physical dimensions are 75.72 × 60.32 × 4.10 mm — measure your bay before ordering if you are unsure of your variant.

  • M1 and M1 Note compatibility: Both models share the BT42 footprint, connector pinout, and the same 3.8V nominal rail required by the Mediatek SoC power management IC. No hardware modification is needed for either device.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on M1 hardware and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the charge IC — no runaway charge condition, and cutoff triggers cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the system begins making capacity predictions against it.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MeiZu M1 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old cell in its coulomb counter registers. When the new cell's actual voltage under modem or display load drops faster than the model predicts, the system hits a hard cutoff before the reported percentage reaches zero. The IC interprets a voltage cliff as an emergency, not an empty gauge. One full discharge cycle — letting the phone shut off on its own without intervention — allows the coulomb counter to re-anchor to the new cell's actual capacity.

MeiZu M1 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-polymer cells in storage self-discharge over time. If the cell has dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state and refuses to supply current to protect against an unsafe charge condition. The phone will show nothing — no boot logo, no charging animation. Connect to a wall charger rated at 5V and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons; most BMS circuits include a trickle pre-charge path that slowly raises cell voltage back above the recovery threshold before handing off to the main charge IC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my MeiZu M1 showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new BT42 cell?

The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself against your old cell's discharge curve and stored that model in its registers. A new cell with different internal impedance will cause the reported percentage to drift — sometimes jumping or sitting high before a sudden drop. Run one complete discharge cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown without charging mid-way. After one full cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and the percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my MeiZu M1 after I replaced the battery — why?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs apply a conservative constant-current profile while they verify BMS handshake and cell impedance. This is normal and it means fast charge is intentionally withheld until the IC is satisfied the cell is responding predictably. Let the phone complete a full slow charge to 100% on the first cycle. Fast charging typically resumes automatically from the second cycle onward without any settings change.

My MeiZu M1 feels warm near the battery area while charging the new cell — is something wrong?

A new lithium-polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a well-used cell, and the charge IC initially pushes current into higher resistance, which generates more heat than you may have noticed with the old battery. This is expected on the first few cycles and reduces as the cell conditions. If the back of the phone stays warm to the point of discomfort beyond the third charge cycle, check that the phone is not inside a case during charging — trapped heat slows the charge IC's thermal regulation and can prolong the warm-charging phase.
