Fits Wiko Birdy, Birdy 4G, and 9261 models; replaces OEM Birdy battery.
3.8V, 2100mAh Li-ion cell delivers full charge cycles to restore daily runtime.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab required.
We tested the BMS on a full discharge cycle; voltage held steady until cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete charge-discharge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wiko Birdy Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Birdy)

This 3.8V, 2100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Wiko Birdy, Birdy 4G, and 9261 smartphones. It matches the OEM voltage rail and physical footprint — 64.31 × 55.88 × 4.80mm — so the back cover seats correctly without modification. Capacity is rated at 7.98Wh.

  • Birdy, Birdy 4G, and 9261 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.8V nominal voltage, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the series, so one cell covers all three variants without firmware conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Birdy platform. The BMS accepted the charge profile without triggering cutoff, and voltage held steady at load across the modem and display draw we applied.
  • First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated reference.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Wiko Birdy after a cell swap

The Birdy's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell has different internal impedance, so the IC's voltage-to-percentage mapping is off from the moment you install it. When the modem fires up a data burst or the screen ramps brightness, the new cell's voltage dips sharply — and the IC reads that dip as a hard cutoff, killing the phone before the gauge hits zero. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging off corrects the reference map and eliminates the false cutoff.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the replacement cell drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage — the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Plug into a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. Most BMS circuits will accept a trickle-charge recovery at that point and unlock once voltage climbs back above the threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wiko Birdy shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Birdy calibrated its discharge curve to your old cell, and the new cell's impedance profile is different enough that the IC miscalculates the remaining voltage under load — it reads a hard cutoff well before actual depletion. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference and the false shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after replacing the battery on my Birdy 4G — what's happening?

On the first charge cycle, the Birdy's charge IC runs at reduced current while it verifies the new cell's BMS response and impedance. Some units also require the fuel gauge IC to complete one calibration handshake before the proprietary charge protocol re-enables higher current. Don't interrupt the first charge. Let it run to 100% on a standard wall adapter, then unplug and power on normally — fast charging typically re-enables on the second cycle once the BMS and charge IC have exchanged a full session.

The battery percentage on my Wiko Birdy is jumping around erratically — 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% — since I installed the replacement.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. It stored lookup tables built on your original cell's voltage curve, and the new cell doesn't hit the same voltage points at the same charge levels. The IC is interpolating badly until it has fresh data. Discharge the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge in one uninterrupted session to 100% with the screen off where possible. After one complete cycle, the gauge has enough real data to track the new cell accurately and the percentage stabilises.
