Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu Pro 7 / M792Q / M792C — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA792 / BA791)
This 3.85V, 2900mAh Li-Polymer cell is a direct replacement for the MeiZu Pro 7 (M792Q, M792C). It fits the internal battery bay and connects to the same flex ribbon as the original BA792 and BA791 units. If the Pro 7 is shutting down early, charging slowly, or not holding charge between uses, the original cell has likely degraded past useful capacity.
- Pro 7 M792Q and M792C compatibility: Both variants use the same 98.46 × 39.40 × 4.20mm footprint, identical connector tab placement, and share the same voltage rail. One cell covers both SKUs — no BMS handshake differences between them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Pro 7 mainboard. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases as expected on a healthy cell.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before resuming normal use. The Pro 7's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this step with fast charging active pushes current into an uncalibrated cell and leaves the percentage readout inaccurate for weeks.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under modem or display load, the cell's internal resistance causes a voltage drop that crosses the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve, so it reads percentage optimistically. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging to let the coulomb counter recalibrate, and the shutdowns will stop.
USB fast charging not working on the first cycle after replacement
On the first charge after a cell swap, the Pro 7's charge IC defaults to a trickle or standard rate while it verifies cell impedance on the new unit. This is normal — the handshake between the charge controller and BMS requires at least one complete cycle before the fast charge protocol re-enables. Plug in with the standard charger, let the first charge complete to 100%, and fast charging will resume on the next session. Do not interrupt that first cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MeiZu Pro 7 is showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new cell — it jumped from 40% to 15% in ten minutes. Is the replacement faulty?
The cell is not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still running on the discharge curve it mapped for your old, degraded battery. Because the original cell had higher internal resistance, the IC learned to expect a faster voltage drop. It takes one full, uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle for the coulomb counter to remap to the new cell. Run that cycle without fast charging and the percentage readout will stabilise.
The Pro 7 feels warm near the battery area during the first charge on the replacement — should I be worried?
A new Li-Polymer cell has lower internal impedance than a worn cell, which means the charge IC initially drives slightly more current than it did at the end of the old cell's life. This produces mild warmth during the constant-current phase — it is not a fault. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC triggers a thermal cutoff (charge stops mid-cycle), disconnect and check that the cell connector tab is fully seated and not bridging a contact. Warmth that fades once the charge enters CV phase is expected behaviour.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I got around to fitting it — is the cell dead?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below 2.5V the BMS will have entered lockout mode to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs to push a trickle current through a locked-out BMS before it will accept a normal charge rate. If the charging LED or screen comes on during that period, let it charge to at least 3.7V before booting. If nothing responds after 40 minutes, check the flex connector seating on the mainboard.
