Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Meilan A5 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BT710)
This is a 3.8V, 3000mAh (11.4Wh) Li-Polymer cell for the Meilan A5 smartphone. It replaces OEM part number BT710 directly. If your A5 is shutting down unexpectedly, failing to hold charge, or not powering on at all, this cell addresses those degraded-cell symptoms.
- Meilan A5 fit: The A5 uses a specific connector pinout and physical envelope — 74.85 × 60.10 × 3.90mm — that matches BT710. The charge IC on the A5 mainboard expects a 3.8V nominal Li-Polymer cell; any deviation causes charge termination errors or incorrect state-of-charge readings.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the A5 platform. The BMS handshake completed without fault flags, charge current ramped correctly through CC-CV phases, and the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell without throwing a calibration error on the first cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first hour.
Why the A5 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The A5 uses a coulomb counter that builds its state-of-charge model against the original cell's impedance and discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, that model is stale. The phone reads voltage and maps it to the old curve, so reported percentage drifts from actual charge state. One full slow discharge to automatic shutdown — followed by a full charge without interruption — resets the coulomb counter baseline and brings reported percentage back into sync.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This shutdown happens at a voltage cliff — typically around 3.5–3.6V under load — where the modem radio or screen backlight draws more current than the cell can sustain at that state of charge, causing a brief voltage dip below the BMS cutoff threshold. The phone interprets this as a dead cell and cuts power, even though the displayed percentage looks safe. It is more common on the first few cycles before the fuel gauge IC has recalibrated. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging; the cutoff threshold stabilises once the IC has an accurate discharge curve to work from.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Meilan A5 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
The BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage, and a cell in storage can self-discharge past that threshold. Connect the A5 to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC on the A5 trickle-charges a locked-out cell at low current to bring it back above the BMS re-enable voltage of around 2.7V, after which the phone boots normally.
Fast charging stopped working on my A5 right after I fitted the replacement battery — was it working before?
On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS on the replacement may not immediately negotiate the proprietary fast-charge handshake because the charge IC is treating the cell as unknown until it completes one baseline charge. Use the standard charger — not a fast-charge adapter — for the first full cycle. After one complete charge to 100%, reconnect the fast charger; the handshake resolves once the BMS has logged a full charge profile for the new cell.
The battery percentage on my A5 keeps jumping around erratically — it dropped from 60% to 34% in two minutes with no heavy use.
The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge model it built for the old, degraded cell. A fresh cell has lower internal impedance and a different voltage-to-capacity curve, so the old model produces large percentage errors under any load spike. Drain the phone fully until it shuts off automatically, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100% without using the phone. That single full cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to rebuild its model against the new cell, and the percentage jumps stop.
