Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Miele HX1 / HX2 Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1010042)
This 25.2V, 2500mAh (63Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Miele HX1 and HX2 cordless stick vacuum range. It fits the standard HX1, HX1 Facelift, HX2, and HX2 Pro among other models in the series. When the original cell degrades and suction drops off early, swapping this battery restores the vacuum to its full power draw.
- HX1 and HX2 series fitment: These models share the same 25.2V battery architecture, connector format, and BMS handshake requirements across the range. The OEM part numbers 1010042 and 11384710 — along with AP01, AP02, AP03, and HS19 cross-references — all map to this single cell configuration, so one replacement covers the full series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery under sustained motor load and confirmed the BMS holds the full 25.2V nominal rail through high-suction operation. The protection circuit tripped correctly on overcurrent and recovered cleanly once load was removed — no latching faults observed.
- Dock charging habit on the HX1/HX2: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently between uses. Continuous dock contact delivers a low-level trickle that accelerates capacity fade in this cell. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The HX1 and HX2 motors draw significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked — the vacuum works harder to maintain airflow, pulling the battery voltage down faster than the indicator circuit expects. The indicator reads state-of-charge, not motor load, so it can still show two bars while suction has already collapsed. This is a voltage sag issue, not a faulty battery. Clean or replace the filter first, then recharge to full — if suction holds at full voltage after that, the battery is not the problem.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed motor or dead battery. When sustained restricted airflow — usually a blocked filter or a hair tangle at the brush head — forces the motor to draw above the BMS threshold, the protection circuit cuts power and holds for a short recovery window before resetting. The vacuum coming back on after a pause is the BMS resetting, not a loose connection. Clear the restriction, wait for the BMS to fully reset, then restart — the cell voltage should sit above 22V at rest if the battery itself is healthy.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Miele HX2 Pro has noticeably shorter runtime than it did a few months ago — the battery is barely a year old. What causes this?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the HX1/HX2 series. Leaving the vacuum on the charging dock between every use exposes the cell to a constant low-level charge current, which degrades lithium-ion cells faster than normal charge-discharge cycles. A battery that has been dock-charged continuously for six to twelve months can lose 20–30% of usable capacity while still appearing to charge normally. Remove the vacuum from the dock once it reaches full charge and only return it when the battery is depleted.
The suction on my Miele HX1 feels weak even right after a full charge — could the replacement battery be the issue?
Weak suction immediately after a full charge is almost always a filter restriction, not a battery fault. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, dropping the voltage rail under load even when the cell is fully charged. Check that the battery rests at or near 25.2V immediately after charging — if it does, the cell is delivering correctly. Clean or replace the filter and retest before concluding the battery is at fault.
The Miele HX1 Facelift won't recognise the new battery — it powers on briefly then shuts off. How do I get the BMS to initialise?
Some Miele HX series chargers expect a valid BMS handshake before allowing a full charge cycle. If the vacuum shuts off within a few seconds of powering on with a new cell, place the battery on the charger and allow a full uninterrupted charge cycle to complete — this lets the charger and BMS exchange the initialisation signal. Do not interrupt the charge partway through. After one complete charge cycle, the vacuum should power on and hold load normally; the resting voltage after that first full charge should read 25.2V.
