Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Iris Ohyama COHC-1300G / DKC-SLDC1 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CBL1015)
This is a 10.8V, 2000mAh (21.6Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Iris Ohyama COHC-1300G cordless stick vacuum and related SLDC1-series models. It replaces OEM part numbers CBL1015, CBL1115, and CBL10815. The battery slots into the handle-mount bay and reconnects the vacuum's motor circuit without modification.
- COHC-1300G and SLDC1 platform fit: These models share the same 10.8V motor rail, connector housing, and BMS communication protocol, which is why a single cell covers the full range. The battery management system on each unit expects the same charge curve and cutoff thresholds.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SLDC1 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held the voltage rail steady through varied load draws, and triggered overcurrent cutoff at the correct threshold during simulated blockage tests.
- Dock charging on stick vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Stick vacuums on permanent dock charge receive a sustained trickle that degrades cell capacity faster than intermittent charge cycles. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the cell can supply cleanly — typically caused by a partially blocked filter rather than a weak battery. Restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling higher current and causing voltage to sag early. The BMS reads that sag and reduces output before the fuel gauge registers a low state. Clean or replace the filter first, then test suction again.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then comes back after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — by a blocked filter, a clogged nozzle, or dense carpet fibres — the motor spikes its current draw above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS shuts the circuit to protect the cell, then resets after a few seconds of cooling. Clear the blockage, check the filter condition, and confirm the nozzle is unobstructed before resuming. If the cutout persists on an unblocked machine, check that the battery is seated fully and the contacts are clean.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Iris Ohyama COHC-1300G suction drops off really fast but the battery indicator still shows charge — is the battery failing?
Not necessarily the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the battery's voltage to sag early and suction to drop well before the indicator catches up. Remove and clean the filter first — if suction recovers and holds, the filter was the cause. If the problem continues on a clean filter, the cell may have lost capacity and needs replacing.
The vacuum ran fine, then the motor cut out completely mid-clean — now it works again after sitting for a minute. What caused that?
That is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a random fault. Sustained restricted airflow — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or thick carpet — pushes motor current above the BMS cutoff limit, and the circuit shuts to protect the cell. After a short pause the BMS resets and power returns. Clear any blockage, inspect the filter, and run the vacuum again — if it cuts out on an unobstructed machine, check that the battery contacts are clean and the pack is fully seated.
I left the COHC-1300G on the charging dock overnight for months and now the battery barely holds charge — did I damage it?
Yes, continuous dock charging is the most common cause of premature capacity fade in stick vacuums. When the battery is full, the charger drops to a low-level trickle that the cell cannot shed as heat efficiently, and repeated exposure degrades the lithium cells over time. With a fresh replacement cell, charge fully and then remove from the dock — only return it when the battery needs charging. That cycle pattern will preserve capacity significantly longer than permanent dock connection.
