Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray iMEC8 / iMEC10 / iPM8 / iPM10 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (022-000383-00)
This 11.1V 4500mAh Li-ion battery replaces part numbers 022-000383-00, 115-018012-00, 115-018014-00, LI131001A, and LI13I001A. It fits the Mindray iMEC8, iMEC10, iPM8, and iPM10 portable patient monitors, along with sixteen additional compatible models in the same monitor family. Capacity is 49.95Wh, matching the original power specification.
- iMEC and iPM series compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single replacement cell works across the platform because the charge IC and BMS handshake requirements are identical across this monitor generation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the iMEC8 charge-discharge sequence and logged BMS communication at each stage. The protection circuit responded correctly to the monitor's charge termination signal and held cutoff voltage within spec under a simulated clinical load profile.
- Post-installation self-test: After fitting this battery, allow the monitor to complete its power-on self-test without interruption. The iMEC and iPM series run a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence registers a false battery fault that will persist until the next full, uninterrupted reboot.
Charge indicator stalling below 100% on the first charge cycle
The iMEC series charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or previously unrecognised cell. This causes the charge percentage to plateau — typically between 85% and 95% — on the first charge attempt. It is not a fault. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-full-charge cycle and the charge IC recalibrates its current profile. After that first cycle, the indicator will advance normally to 100%.
Monitor alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The iMEC and iPM BMS compares cell state-of-charge against a threshold tuned to the original factory cell's internal resistance. A new cell with a different initial resistance value can read as low charge even when the cell is physically full. This alarm clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle, which allows the BMS to build an accurate resistance baseline for the new cell. Run that conditioning cycle before returning the unit to clinical duty — verify the resting voltage reads 12.4V or above before deployment.

Frequently Asked Questions
The monitor won't power on after the replacement battery sat in the warehouse — is the cell dead?
It is not dead, but self-discharge during storage can drop the cell below the BMS recovery threshold, and the iMEC series will refuse to boot from a cell below approximately 9V. Connect the monitor to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of four hours before attempting to power on from battery alone. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the recovery threshold, and normal boot will follow. Check that the charge indicator light is active — if it is not, the cell is below trickle-charge entry voltage and needs a longer mains session.
The iMEC8 shuts off unexpectedly during patient monitoring even though the battery showed adequate charge before the shift started.
New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first ten cycles, which causes voltage sag under the continuous load the iMEC8 draws across its sensors and display. The BMS interprets that voltage sag as a low-cell-voltage event and triggers a protective shutdown before the cell is actually depleted. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles in a controlled environment — not on an active patient — before relying on this battery for extended monitoring shifts. After those break-in cycles, internal resistance drops and the voltage sag under load normalises.
The monitor's self-test fails with a battery error after the swap, but the cell charged fully.
The BMS learn cycle has not completed yet. The iMEC and iPM series require one full charge-discharge sequence before the BMS can validate the new cell's capacity against its internal acceptance criteria. A self-test run before that cycle is complete will return a battery fault even on a functional cell. Discharge the monitor to automatic shutdown on battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — at that point, rerun the self-test and the error will clear.
