Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray SP1 / BeneFusion VP3 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICR18650-2S / 115-068528-00)
This 7.4V, 2600mAh (19.24Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the OEM cell in the Mindray SP1 patient monitor and its related clinical platforms. It fits the SP1, SP1 Syringe Pump, SK-801 EX, BeneFusion VP3, and eleven additional compatible models sharing the same voltage rail and connector standard. Capacity figures are taken directly from product data — not estimated from comparable cells.
- SP1 and BeneFusion platform compatibility: These models share a common 7.4V two-cell architecture and the same BMS handshake protocol. The connector pinout and charge-IC communication line are identical across the platform, so one cell SKU covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the SP1's charge-management circuit and confirmed the BMS authenticated correctly, accepted a full charge without fault flags, and held voltage within the monitor's operating window under simulated clinical load.
- Post-installation self-test requirement: After fitting this battery, allow the SP1 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs BMS verification at startup — cutting power mid-sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot.
SP1 low-battery alarm triggered immediately after a confirmed full charge
The SP1's BMS compares cell state-of-charge against a threshold calibrated for the OEM cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a full charge-discharge learn cycle, so the BMS may read the cell as below threshold even when the charge indicator shows full. This is not a fault in the battery — it is the BMS applying a conservative margin to an uncalibrated cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before treating any alarm as a genuine fault.
Device will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery has been stored for several months, its resting voltage may have dropped below the SP1's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 6.0V for a 7.4V nominal two-cell pack. The BMS will refuse to engage below this threshold as a protection measure, and the device will show no response when the power button is pressed. Connect the battery to the SP1 on charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — the charge IC applies a low-rate pre-charge to bring the cell back above the recovery threshold before handing off to the main charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SP1 shows a low battery alarm the moment I install this new battery — even after charging it overnight. Is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The SP1's BMS is calibrated to the OEM cell's discharge curve, and a new cell has no learned cycle data yet. Until one full charge-discharge cycle is completed, the BMS applies a conservative threshold and may flag low battery on a cell that is actually near full. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the monitor before treating the alarm as a real fault.
The SP1 won't power on at all after fitting this replacement — the screen stays dark and there's no response to the power button.
This points to the cell voltage sitting below the BMS recovery threshold from self-discharge during storage. The BMS will not engage if the pack is below approximately 6.0V, and the monitor gives no visible response when this happens. Leave the battery installed and connect the SP1 to mains power for at least 30 minutes — the charge IC runs a low-rate pre-charge to bring the cell above the recovery threshold before normal charging begins. Once that pre-charge phase completes, the device should boot normally.
The SP1 shut down unexpectedly during monitoring — the battery had shown a good charge level beforehand.
In the first ten cycles, a new Li-ion cell has not yet reached full electrolyte wetting across the electrode surface, which means its effective capacity and voltage stability under load are both lower than they will be after conditioning. The SP1's load profile during active patient monitoring draws more current than standby, and this can trigger the BMS undervoltage cutoff on an unconditioned cell even when the state-of-charge indicator looked acceptable. Complete three to five full charge-discharge cycles on the device before relying on the battery for uninterrupted clinical use.
