Fits Mindray SP1 patient monitor and replaces OEM battery ICR18650-2S and 115-068528-00.
7.4V 3400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained output through extended patient assessments and transport runs.
Two 18650 cylindrical cells in series configuration; connector seats into standard Mindray battery dock with positive contact tab first.
We ran a full charge cycle on the SP1 monitor — BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes and voltage held stable through discharge.
On first installation, let the SP1 complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption; medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this cycle triggers a false low-battery alarm that only clears after a full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray SP1 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICR18650-2S)

This 7.4V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the ICR18650-2S (OEM ref 115-068528-00) in the Mindray SP1 portable patient monitor. It also fits the SP1 Syringe Pump, SK-801 EX, BeneFusion VP3, and eleven additional models sharing this voltage rail and connector format. Capacity matches the original at 3400mAh (25.16Wh).

  • Multi-model compatibility across SP1 and BeneFusion platforms: These devices share a common 7.4V two-cell configuration, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS communication protocol — which is why one cell fits across all listed models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran full charge and discharge cycles on this cell, confirming the BMS handshake completes correctly and protection thresholds — overcurrent, over-temperature, and low-voltage cutoff — trigger within spec.
  • Post-installation self-test on Mindray SP1: After fitting this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The SP1 runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the SP1 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The SP1's charge IC applies conservative acceptance thresholds calibrated to the OEM cell's internal resistance profile. A new third-party cell has a slightly different impedance signature, so the BMS can flag it as below threshold on the first cycle even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault — it resolves after one complete charge-discharge cycle, which lets the BMS learn the new cell's characteristics. Run that cycle before returning the device to clinical use.

SP1 will not power on after the battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell (5.0V total), the BMS enters deep-discharge lockout and blocks output to protect the cells. The SP1 will show no response — no boot, no charging indicator. Connect the device to mains power and leave it for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on; the charger applies a trickle current that brings the pack above the BMS recovery threshold. If the indicator still does not respond after 60 minutes on charge, check the charger output at the connector — it should read between 8.2V and 8.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mindray SP1 keeps alarming low battery even though I just charged the new battery fully — is the cell faulty?

This happens because the SP1's BMS calibrates acceptance thresholds against the original cell's impedance profile, and a new cell reads slightly outside that window until it goes through one full cycle. The alarm is a calibration mismatch, not a defective cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before treating the alarm as a real fault. After that cycle, the BMS updates its reference and the alarm clears.

The SP1 shuts off unexpectedly mid-assessment even though the battery indicator looked fine — what's happening?

Medical device load profiles spike current draw sharply during certain display and sensor polling intervals, and new cells deliver less consistent voltage under those spikes in the first 5–10 cycles. The BMS interprets a brief voltage sag as a low-cell event and cuts output to protect the pack. This improves significantly once the cells have completed their initial conditioning cycles — run the device through at least five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on it for extended clinical use. If dropouts continue past ten cycles, measure resting pack voltage after a full charge — it should sit at or above 8.2V.

The SP1 charge indicator stopped at around 90% and won't go higher on the first charge — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. On the first charge, the SP1's charge IC applies a conservative upper current limit when it encounters a new cell with an unfamiliar impedance signature. It holds the cell at a reduced acceptance rate near the top of the charge curve, which stalls the indicator below 100% for longer than expected. Let the charge run to completion without interrupting it — most units complete the final stage and reach full charge within two hours of the indicator appearing to stall. The second charge cycle will reach 100% at normal speed.
