Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Navman iCN 510 / iCN 520 / iCN 530 / iCN 550 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (E3MT07135211)
This 3.7V 1350mAh Li-ion cell replaces part number E3MT07135211 in the Navman iCN 510, iCN 520, iCN 530, and iCN 550 portable GPS navigators. It matches the original voltage and physical footprint at 51.46 × 36.14 × 6.25mm. Capacity is rated at 5Wh, consistent with the OEM specification for this navigator series.
- iCN 510 / 520 / 530 / 550 compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V power rail, which is why a single cell covers the entire group. The BMS on each unit reads the same charge termination voltage, so no handshake mismatch occurs on fitment.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the iCN platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without triggering a fault state. Charge termination occurred cleanly at 4.2V and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After fitting this cell and powering on, take the unit outdoors with a clear sky view before first use. A full power interruption clears the GPS receiver's ephemeris data, forcing a cold start that can take 5–10 minutes to acquire a fix — subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once that data is cached again.
Saved routes and POIs disappearing after a battery swap on the iCN 510
The iCN series stores certain user data — saved routes, favourites, and some POI lists — in battery-backed RAM rather than flash memory. When the battery is fully removed, that RAM loses power and the data is wiped. This is not a fault with the replacement cell; it is a characteristic of the hardware. Before removing the old battery, export any saved routes to the SD card via the device's data management menu — that copy survives the swap.
iCN 510 shutting off without a low-battery warning
After fitting a new cell, the fuel gauge on the iCN platform is uncalibrated — it still reads state-of-charge against the worn discharge curve of the old battery. The device's low-battery indicator can trigger late or not at all, and the unit hits the BMS undervoltage cutoff (around 3.0V) with no visual warning. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles to let the gauge recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve. After that, the warning indicator should appear at the correct threshold again.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Navman iCN 510 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes, and it is a hardware limitation, not a fault with the new cell. The iCN series keeps saved routes and favourites in battery-backed RAM, which loses its contents the moment power is fully cut. The fix is to export routes to the SD card before removing the old battery — use the device's data management menu to do that before the next swap.
Satellite lock is taking 10 minutes after fitting the new battery — something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's ephemeris data, which is the almanac of satellite positions it builds up over time. Without that cached data, the unit has to perform a cold start and rebuild it from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the data is cached again, subsequent power cycles lock in under a minute.
GPS accuracy on my iCN 510 seems worse when the battery charge gets low — is the receiver cutting out?
Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity at low battery to protect against a hard cutoff during an active fix. On the iCN platform this shows up as position drift or a weaker signal bar count when the cell drops below roughly 3.4V. Keeping the battery charged above that threshold maintains full receiver sensitivity. If accuracy stays poor on a full charge after two or three cycles, recheck that the replacement cell is seating firmly and making clean contact with both terminals.
